My Lady and I were headed home from the coast when we decided to stop for a bite to eat in Grants Pass. After doing some research the Horny Goat was where we decided to dine on Sunday evening. Initially the environment the restaurant layout and bar were super impressive. And the drink selection was incredible. We sat at a nice table at the bar and were looking over their menu. After looking over the menu the waitress / bartender takes my ladies drink order and couldn’t wait 10 seconds for me to choose a drink. 🥃 kind of rubbed me wrong. After that we were ready to order appetizers and meals. The waitress returns and I place my drink order. She takes off and comes with my drink separately and after. We finally place our appetizer order and my lady orders first and tells the waitress what she would like. The waitress comments are you sharing that and looks at me. Weird. I said no I would like to order food also, I then proceed to do so. The food was good, the waitress returns/ owner and every employee in there didn’t look happy. Not one of them was smiling or friendly. The owner/waitress/bartender seemed irritated annoyed and unhappy and didn’t want to be bothered. We were not offered a second drink or even asked if we wanted one nor were we offered desert or any upsale. You guys have a really cool spot in downtown Grants Pass and If I can give you some constructive criticism please put the customer first and offer some improved customer service. This would have been a five star ⭐️ review had the customer service been remotely good but it simply...
Read morethis was our third visit to the place, not impressed with the food at all. the first visit was basically for ales, which were good, left with a growler. second was for dinner, neither one of us could remember what we had and the only memory was that there was an issue with the food. This visit was for dinner, wont make that mistake again. for the price you pay you might think that you would be givin a napkin. We asked twice then were givin a almost spent roll of paper towels. was odd. The montery chicken was just shy of disgusting, dry, obviously just frozen a few mins before i got it, supposed to be a chicken breast, atop a bed of alfredo sauce and noodles. oh, and there was a couple pickled artichoke hearts in the mix also. it read alot better on the menu than tasted. i dont remember what she ordered but i do remember her saying it had no flavor and the dry noodle bed it was on was a disappointment. Thinking the dogs might like it we asked for a to-go box, we got chinease carry out boxes, again, seemed odd. Anyways, dogs didnt eat it. Now the drinks, she had a bloody mary, just because you have access to a variety of pickled vegatables doesnt mean you know have made the "best bloody mary in town", i believe there is supposed to be vodka in one which there wasnt, if there was it was so little it wasnt detected, i had a rum and coke, more like cola and ice, couldnt taste a hint of rum in it. $62.00 wasted. guess gastro...
Read moreFirst time in. We waited for awhile waiting for the hostess to show up. When she did, she was a bit snotty to a couple of ladies who did nothing to deserve that attitude. Our waitress was very stressed out— (quick to throw a couple menus our way (like a run-by). We didn’t see her for awhile but when she came back she still was in the mode of wanting to get going — ordered drinks and fries to begin— got the drinks but no-show on the fries. Ok. When another brought our meals (very good food) we let her know about our appetizer never arrived. When we were almost finished eating, the waitress tossed fries on our table and said it was on her (nice gesture—just so manic) when I tried to ask for more info about a drink she literally ran by and then backed up. Got the info but wow— over working herself or something cuz we didn’t notice other servers running like her. Another thing: be aware before you pay cuz there is an added fee if you pay by card that is on the bill BEFORE they know you have cash to pay… just be mindful. We liked the food, atmosphere but the personalities of a couple employees may need to be re-evaluated… We may come back but we have been to nicer businesses whose staff really work hard as well and they make you feel...
