there's a funny smell in both of the lobby and our room. they were playing country music in the lobby which isn't my particular taste but I suppose some people like it. we booked the cottage, which is nice because it is separate from the other rooms, and spacious, but doesn't seem that clean/sanitary. I noticed a fruit fly as soon as we walked in. there was another in the bathroom. there was also a spider when we walked in after dinner. there's a lamp post outside of our cottage that had tons of spider webs on it and we both laughed about it, but I wonder if they cleaned it up there might not be spiders! however, the cheese and crackers and milk and cookies are a nice touch and I'm looking forward to breakfast in the morning. also the pool didn't seem that clean and there's some kind of residue by one of the bathroom sinks, I'll include a picture. the lady at the front desk was very kind and friendly, however she did tell us that breakfast would be served in the pine room which shared a wall with our cottage. my husband asked if there would be any noise and she said no, but their definitely was starting about 6:30 a.m., I have the air conditioner turned up and my ear plugs in but could still hear a bumping banging noise. then when I was doing my makeup in the bathroom I heard a really loud scrubbing sort of noise that might not bother some people, but I'm sensitive to sound. decent pricing as well and it was really just a place for us to crash on our road trip. we were pleasantly surprised by the little side yard within our little...
Read moreWow - such a welcome find in a sea of boring, dirty, broken down chain hotels, this is a gem. It's the nicest place we stayed across a three state road trip to Disney - and we paid out the nose at those other places. Staff and service are simply wonderful and are beyond any we saw on this trip. Thank you to George who checked us in, the milk and warm cookies were a fantastic start to our stay. The pool is clean and the changing color lights were a hit with our kids. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The view to the pool and river is really nice and in the AM, the big windows and patio door opens to birds singing and warm sun - loved it. There is thought put into amenities in room including bathrobes and nice smelling lotion and soaps - bedding is not bleach smelling and feels clean. The morning breakfast is a buffet with good food and lots of options in its own building which continues the lodge theme, really nice place. The two gals who worked the breakfast buffet are top notch, so friendly and helpful, everything was full and they were so kind to guests. Buffet is included w stay! There are only 2 floors, private patios, nice upgrades, our room had a new air conditioning unit and was nicely decorated. We loved our stay! We'll be back next time we come this...
Read moreThe Lodge is just great! I am from Tennessee but my mom lives in GP. When we visit for a week or so we have begun staying at the Lodge. Rooms are cozy albeit a bit basic for the cost. It’s top features are its location with beautiful views of the Rogue River and an excellent pool. I absolutely love the staff. Always try and be around for the free glass of wine or milk and cookies in the evening. The front desk people when not busy with a customer are great to chat with. The only one complaint that I had was that the plugs for the tv, fridge, and a light or two were plugged haphazardly with an ancient multi outlet with on cord too loose to connect so it hung out halfway. Exactly in the way your dad taught you not to use a plug or you’ll burn down the house. I brought this up to the front desk who was very sweet about it, whether it was fixed I do not know. Even with that the Lodge’s attributes are great and gets a 5 star from me. We will...
