Skip's Sport Shop — Local services in Grayling Charter Township

Excellent store! Went to the Grayling/Mio area with a friend looking for trout. We are from Owosso and Clio so we didn't know the area very well. We got skunked the day before and as we were checking out, the owner overheard us talking about where to go. After asking what bait we were using and how we were fishing he grabbed a map and pointed out a beautiful spot where we could wade for miles and guaranteed we would catch trout. We were on a trip to Michigan from Pennsylvania. Stayed in this town for a week. Went to Skips 3 different times. All times they were super helpful and friendly. The most important and awesome thing that stuck out the most (besides how friendly and helpful they were) was during one of our stops there I asked about a Skips hat, that day they didn’t have any but he said he would mail me one when they didn’t have them. So during opening week of deer season, they still close at like 6 o'clock. The busiest week of the year and they closed. If you show up at 610 too bad. I just needed 1 thing, would have paid cash, there was a lady inside, she pretended not to see me, she thought if she didn't move I wouldn't see her. Side doors were wide open still. So to get something from skips during hunting season you have to leave your blind during daylight....
