Salon 124 Grayson — Local services in Grayson

After some consideration I have decided to post a review so hopefully this will not happen again to someone else. Sadly, my experience here was disappointing. I called and made an appointment for a consultation and met with a stylist who will not be named- I 'm not directly blaming her entirely because in my experience with Genesis and Salon 124 this is a company wide problem and not just one stylist. She was nice and friendly and we began discussing my hair. Simply put, I wanted a color correction. I walked in with a darkish brown hair color that I wanted corrected to my natural, light brown. After she was done I can’t say I’m 100% satisfied but with the route she chose, my hair does not look bad, just not really what I wanted. However I am more upset about her/the company lying about a service offered. I googled (as shown in the pictures below) salons near me that offer the service of OLAPLEX. For those who do not know, Olaplex is a special treatment for color processes that protects the hair shaft during coloring. The ONLY REASON why I even made this consultation appointment in the first place was because their salon came up on the list. I understand that sometimes google is wrong, but that is not the problem. After asking my stylist about Olaplex, she happily agreed to do the treatment (obviously implying that they had it) she occasionally referred to it when she was washing my hair. I know Olaplex is a unique brand, I know it is a three step process-the third step being a purchasable item that the client can buy and use at home- and I know what the bottles look like (I've had it used on my hair before with a different stylist in Atlanta 2 yrs ago). I know the look, shape, feel and even the smell on my hair. When my stylist at 124 took me to wash my hair she grabbed something called "Keune Bond Fusion". Long story short, instead of telling me that they did not offer Olaplex, she lied to me about it and used an entirely different product and charged me for it too. While I love the finished product and the stylist, I believe the quoted price was misleading. My daughter had saved money for her and I to have our hair done together as a birthday present to me. She called and set everything up. Was quoted $41 for my haircut and $74 for partial highlights. When I arrived, I informed the stylist that I would prefer full highlights and she said it would be $15-$20 more. Not a problem. When I paid, I was charged $180. The haircut was $51, highlights $99 and 2 charges for $15 for extra color. My hair is long, but only about half way down my back. So not extremely long. Then my daughter wanted silver ombre. The stylist talked her into going with an oil treatment and regular color. She already had old blond ombre. But she kept insinuating that we couldn't afford the extra $25 for silver. And kept saying silver would go darker. Not sure why she kept trying to talk her out of it instead of just doing as my daughter (the client) wanted. Good thing though, she was quoted again $41 for the cut and $141 for the ombre and she was only charged $170. But it's $170 for something she did not want or isn't happy with. BEST service ever!!😍😍😍😍 I had the absolute pleasure of getting my hair done by Sofia, and I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about her! From the moment I sat in her chair, she made me feel comfortable and understood. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted, but she took the time to listen to my ideas, explain what was realistic, and guide me toward the perfect shade of blonde that complemented my complexion—all while making sure my hair stayed healthy and undamaged.

Sofia is incredibly sweet, professional, and genuinely talented. She’s one of those rare stylists who really listens and takes her time to make sure the final result not only looks amazing but also makes you feel confident and happy. I’ve never received such thoughtful and personalized service before.
