Mitch is very dedicated, and willing to help, however we were very turned off with our experience. We went because we wanted to make a good decision on some furniture, Bens has quality furniture. Clearly, were making a good choice to start off. However, we endured a long, unprofessional and condescending lecture about making good choices financially, and furniture quality. All sounds great, but when you have to sit through it, get mowed over, and be talked to like you're stupid; well, you no longer want to buy there. He made great points about furniture and blah blah... listen. We have been blessed with a very successful business, we care for our products we talk about quality. We don't bash our competition and then talk about how we go on vacation. We dress down, we drive a plain car, because guess what... we're not showy; unfortunately, our appearance gave the owner of this business the open door to be condescending, about majority of consumers, and also towards us. This was a terrible turn off, and we're more happy than ever that we remain humble in our own personal success rather than what we got. We were looking into getting a new sofa and loveseat set. We visited this store to check out their selection. We were greeted in a timely manner when we entered the stop. We told the owner what we were in the market for. Before we could get into any more details he drove straight into horror stories about furniture accidents killing infants and children.
That day we had our infant son with us. I guess I can understand the attempt to pressure us into buying his product. However, it was an extremely gruesome way to go about making a sale.
His insensitive tactic really effected us. We had already had 3 (THREE) near death experiences with our newborn child. Near fealty as in The medics needed to resuscitate our infant and was rushed to the hospital all THREE times!
I left the store immediately after he stopped telling us story after story. It took my husband hours to get me to calm down.
We took our money to a different store and custom ordered a set.

Secondly, I understand your frustration all too well, being that I felt pressured into spending $5k on a bedroom set, or pressured to face the fact that I am in fact too stupid to understand the difference between MDF and real wood. Now I’ll speak to the potential customers, I suspect that my experience is not the norm, so take this bit with a grain of salt. I’m not saying that the customer is always right, but my goodness, I was belittled, almost reprimanded for even entering the store without any reason. Gosh I wish I could remember the name of the salesman, but he’s the epitome of what a cocky salesman should be, almost a caricature version.
