I used to love this shop and had all good experiences until recently when I discovered that a pair of earrings I purchased as sterling silver 925 for $45 were not in fact sterling but pewter. The maker mark was ege and was very small and looked a little like 925 from a distance. I assumed it was an honest mistake and called the shop thinking they would make it right. It had been a while since my purchase but the earrings had never been worn since purchased to flip them for profit, and they asked for a reciept. I likely have the reciept but explained it would be easier for them to locate my purchase in their system as all pawn shops have to keep records of all their transactions and it was a while ago I was not anticipating this issue. He stated he would only give me a discount without a reciept despite the fact that he could very easily look up the sale which to me is dishonest and shady business. It was their lack of integrity that caused the issue. It can easily be verified. There should be no issue here. As soon as I discovered they werent sterling I contacted them. They have a responsibility to make it right upon discovery. This makes it appear as though they knew and were fraudulently selling the earrings as silver knowing they were pewter. They should be checking and testing their pieces as experts. If I have to go to all the trouble of locating the old reciept when they can easily look up the transaction on account of their mistake I would just rather forget it. Its about principal. They are hoping for that. They lost a regular customer and one who referred a lot of resellers and farmers. I will tell everyone I know to avoid this shop as they do bad business. They went from the only pawn shop I used now I will never use or recommend. When I find my reciept Ill file a small claims action...
Read moreI and my girlfriend walked in ready to spend a lot of money in the store. As soon as we walked in an old man behind the counter rudely told her that she cannot wear a mask and to remove it. Since she previously had severe COVID this is a safety hazard and i believe a safety violation my girlfriend has a UV allergy and the day also started off cold, it was just starting to warm up as well. I was not wearing a mask or a hoodie and could be easily identified. We left the store to return a few minutes later wearing no mask and showing the cash we would have spent in the store. Due to the rudeness of the attendant, we will not be returning to the store ever since the attendant could have approached the situation differently, ie asking my girlfriend to remove just the hoodie or to leave the premises due to their policy instead of yelling at her. Rudeness will not be tolerated and should not be tolerated.
In response to the response: the attendant yelled at my girlfriend, a former marine, there was no request made, there was no politeness involved, there was no mention of glasses, and i did not have any hoodie or mask or sunglasses on. They did not mention anything about security. It was the rudeness of the attendant that matters here. There was no request....
Read moreEXTREMELY HIGH PRICES. I found them selling a heavily used firearm for more than other vendors are selling the same item NEW.
I went here to look at firearms and was appalled at the pricing. In particular I eye'd a Walther PPS 40 cal (classic model). The thing was sticker priced at $445. The exact model is listed at bud's gun shop for $379 but in brand new condition. The one at the shop had a round count that was obviously reaching well into the thousands with a ton of wear on the finish and the internals. It was used up and dirty as hell to boot.
I offered 320 (seemed fair) and they basically laughed at me. They jumped online and after browsing for a minute said I can do 340. I asked to field strip the weapon and it was even worse than I expected. Told them it wasn't what I would expect for 340 and the older shop keeper quickly told the man showing it to me 'put it away'.
A very similar firearm brand new, the PPS 40 cal M2 sells for 300 new at the time of this writing. The EXACT same model the PPS classic 40cal is 379 new.
Obviously they can sell their firearms for whatever price they want, but the prices are sky high and in my mind don't reflect the actual value of...
