First off, thank you to the company that has kept Shopko Optical open despite the parent entity shutting down--brilliant NOT to try rebranding. Nancy, Lisa, Esme, Kari took amazing care of me and helped me find a pair of glasses that kept my out of pocket down from my insurance as well as informing me on the many options available. Doc was able to create a specific use prescription (extended computer use) so that I can have a pair for day to day use and a pair for work use.
This is what sets this team of professionals apart--they combined to give me an absolute first rate experience--Nancy was was so knowledgeable about the details of lens features, Kari rocked the insurance details, and Esme got me all squared away once I made my final choice. No one was ever too busy to answer a question and if they didn't know something, they found the answer--as a team. This team puts nothing above customer service and product knowledge. If I excluded anyone, it's because I'm an old man--every team member in that store contributed to my experience.
What more could any consumer ask for in a service/product transaction? This should be--and is now my own--expectation when I visit any business. Thank you all for being professionals.

Okay, I'm back!!! I lose glasses like an old man (which I guess I am), so decided to look into contact lenses as they would be easier and cheaper to replace because I refuse to be the guy with the glasses around my neck hanging from an attached cord. One again, Esme, Deanna, Greg, and Dr. King took amazing care of me.
I'm a first-time contact lens user and not too bright--I was not aware that one could get multifocal lenses to replace my bifocals. Esme explained everything to me and took as much time as I needed (half an hour) to get comfortable putting them in and taking them out. Because this shop is all about team, Deanna joined in to help me find the right contacts for my usage as well as offered advise on how to take them in or out--then shared with me her own experience using contacts.
The gave me several options to try out for a week to see which ones worked best. For cost concerns, I was not really interested in daily use, so tried some extended wear ones that were, after the first week, not as comfortable as the daily wear option, so I went back and consulted with Deanna and she found an option for me to try--for another week so that Dr. King could finalize my prescription.
She hit a home run with Air Optix multifocal extended wear lenses! At my appointment yesterday to finalize my prescription, they were busy but continued to provide amazing service and answer my many questions about the product. Esme went through my insurance and found the best combination of lenses to maximize my benefits and continued to share her advise and expertise in the usage of this new product for me.
As has been my experience EVERY TIME I've come to the West Mason location, the whole team took care of me. Greg got me checked in, Dr. King finalized my prescription after a few tests, then Esme and Deanna deftly escorted this cranky old man into a new optical experience--one that I had never imagined I'd utilize.
The level of professionalism at this location exceeds my previous expectations and is rivaled only by the WORLD CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE and attention to detail!

Read moreI had a really bad experience here particularly with one woman working the desk. The optometrist and a male employee were fine but the woman at the front desk really ruined it for me.
My eye exam felt rushed also and I was provided with an accurate prescription. The eye doctor told me she had two trial pairs of contacts for me to try before buying. They only had one in stock and said they would call when the other pair arrived to pick it up. I told them I was on my last pair of contacts and wanted to order a year supply asap once I tried the two different types. Three weeks go by and no call and the pair I was trying was drying out. I called and this very rude employee at the desk asked which trial I had and I said the eye doctor never told me. She refused to let me pick up the other trial because the doctor wasn’t in the office (on a Friday). I told her I was supposed to be contacted by them and she kept saying why didn’t you call sooner. I said I will pay for a pair, I have family pictures this weekend and I need contacts and I would’ve ordered some weeks ago but I was waiting for a call. She was so rude on the phone and kept saying why didn’t you call sooner. Could not see a thing at my family pictures. The next day, I decided I was done with them so I went to order contacts online (without trying the other paid). I look at my prescription and I can’t read the hand written numbers. I called shopko optical and the same woman answered. I asked her to verify my prescription and she said she couldn’t do that. She’s not allowed to reveal that info over the phone. I said what if I read the numbers, can you say yes or no. She refused and so was rude on the phone. I called another shopko optical in de pere immediately after and was able to confirm my prescription with a very nice woman there. Avoid at all costs. Rude employee will ruin your experience. That was my first and last time I ever visit shopko optical. I recommend the sams club eye doctor. He said I was the third person that day to say they had a bad experience at shopko optical....

Whether it was Daniel scheduling all 4 of our appointments without one single gripe or sense of frustration or annoyance in his voice, or Morgan who was so knowledgeable and helpful when it came to getting us all in glasses that we would love and dealing with the insurance. Hands down amazing team. The other man whom did my kids exams today was also very friendly and helpful as well. Dr. King is so kind and Friendly And not only took the time to explain it to me but to my children as well and to make sure they understood what was going on with their eyes! I give an all around 5 stars!!!! Everyone there knew what they were doing, they were fast, efficient, knowledgeable and caring!
