IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I ABSOLUTELY WOULD!
Prime Storage has been a complete disappointment since taking over from CubeSmart — which, by the way, had fantastic service. The transition has been nothing short of chaotic and unprofessional.
To start, our accounts were completely shut down for weeks during the handover. We weren’t even able to make payments until recently, when they finally sent out new rental agreements (which, sure, is expected with a company switch). But prior to that, I went in person trying to pay, and was told they couldn’t process anything because the system was down. Fair enough — transitions can be messy. I tried paying through the app (which we have NO ACCESS to now whatsoever) and on the phone in the morning which did not work as the system was spinning then tried again later on through the automated system to pay. It still didn’t work. Eventually, that was when I went in person. They did not give me a hard time each time I interacted with anyone , like the lady today. I gave them all the information needed and they were trying to help.
Around the end of last week. While I was there, I asked one of the Prime Storage employees if the prices would increase. She assured me they wouldn’t, but said if they did, I should call and speak with the manager so they could try to keep the rate the same. Fast forward: I receive the new agreement and — surprise — my rate jumped $20 more for the same small unit.
I called today, as instructed, to speak with the manager. That’s when I encountered RUE, the so-called "manager on duty", who was completely unhelpful and downright rude. She would only take a payment — that’s it. Which is absurd. She didn’t ask me a single question about my relationship to the account holder. She didn’t ask if I was an authorized user. She didn’t try to verify me in any way — I was just immediately and completely dismissed.
Imagine calling on your HUSBAND’S or WIFE’s behalf on a unit that you all share/pay for and being treated like that. No effort, no professionalism, just, “I can’t speak with you.” Period.
So I walked to my partner, who works from home, and had them get on the phone with Rue. Rue asked them for their name and unit number. My partner couldn’t remember the unit number offhand, so I said it out loud in the background. Rue then claimed that my voice in the background "voided" the security verification. Which makes no sense — unit numbers are not security questions. And again, she never asked any proper verification questions, just a name.
At that point, I gave up and decided to go in person. But honestly, if this is the level of “customer service” and management Prime Storage is now offering, I want no part of it. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. They’ve raised prices without warning, are disorganized, and clearly lack any concept of professional or respectful customer service.
You’re better off finding another storage facility that values its customers. Avoid this place at all costs. First impressions are KEY. Remember that.

Update: Called the number left below in response to this review. Spoke with someone named TRACY. She was even more rude as I was simply still just trying to speak with someone about this unit. She dismissed me and stated she needed to speak with my partner and when I told her give me one moment, and as I was about to give my partner the phone, she hung up the phone on me. My partner was flabbergasted as to such customer service they were giving and unprofessionalism is happening there sighing the staff. My partner called them back and went through the prompt and Tracy answered the phone again and before they could even say anything Tracy hung the phone up once more on us.
Like stated before PLEASE BE AWARE of this company. They are not even trying to retain the customers that are already there and are fake it till they make it in here. Wouldn’t be surprised if they are...
Read moreThis use to be Cube Smart which I absolutely loved. Prime storage has since taken over and let me tell you their first impression has not been a good one. I’ve had my storage unit here for over 4 years now. Never an issue. I run my business out of my unit and it’s important for me to have access to it when I need it. This past Sunday I went to unload my mini van and put gear away. I dragged my husband and kids to help. Unloaded a large mini van filled with cribs, car seats and other bulky heavy things. Got to my unit and I could not get my it open. My husband and I kept trying and thought my lock broke. It being a Sunday, no one in the office was around to help. We had to load everything back into my van. Today, Monday I went in and talked with someone in the office. He met me at my unit, he asked if my account was paid up and put on auto pay, I replied yes and he proceeded to unlock my unit with a master key. He told me the new owners locked everyone’s storage until they put their accounts on auto pay. I said that’s a crap move. If I had clients yesterday I needed to deliver gear to (i rent baby gear to traveling families. This includes cribs and car seats) this action would have cost me money and clients. If I couldn’t get a car seat to a parent waiting for one at the airport, I could have ended up with a poor Google rating, effecting my future business. No notification was sent out prior communicating to the tenants saying our units would be inaccessible until checking in at the office. No letter posted to my unit’s door or letter posted to the outside access doors. No text. Nothing. Had I know that I would have made sure to go during office hours to unlock my storage. This does not give me a good first impression of this company.
Not to mention all these reviews on this page right now prior to summer 2025 are for Cube Smart not the new Prime storage so they’re literally just taking over Cube Smart’s reputation.
Edit: the place is a mess too. They don’t clean the floors at all. I’ve been watching garbage just sit there day after day. There has been a Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee curdling for over a week now. Keeps being moved around but never thrown out. People will leave their stuff around and it just sits there. As a result they have cockroaches in the bathrooms, my 6 year old refuses to use the facilities there bc he was disturbed by them as...
Read moreI NEVER leave reviews but was so impressed i felt it was only right. Stop searching for a storage facility because I've already done the research for you, rent here.
I am extremely picky so I did my research and read the reviews on all surrounding storage facilities within a 10 mile radius of Lake Worth. After visiting multiple facilities and pricing out the differences I can assure you that CubeSmart was the best option. Every facility offered an online deal. However, CubeSmart seemed to be the only facility that honored that initial deal price for a month to month rental. A lot of other places only guaranteed their promotional price for the first month or two. When I spoke to a rep at Extra Space Storage, not only were they rude, but they told me their prices vary from month to month depending on demand and they would not commit a specific price to me for my storage rent. I don't know about you, but I think it makes more sense (and I prefer) to have consistent monthly payments.
What completely sealed the deal for me though was the general manager, Marco. I came at him with a lot of questions and he answered each confidently without hesitation. I told him how the last time I rented a storage unit (in another state) I inevitably found a dead rat in one of my boxes and that was a major concern for me here. He reassured me that would not happen here and told me about the steps they take on a weekly and monthly basis to maintain the property and keep bugs and rodents away. Not only that, but he then showed me that he also has multiple storage lockers himself in the facility and would not put his own belongings in there if there was any risk of bugs or rodents.
Marco went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and confident in his facility. He even took time to meet me on his day off to help me set up my storage locker and offered to help with any items. Even when he's not at the facility he is still reachable and very responsive. He's a respectable man and seemed willing to do anything he could to make this experience as great and easy and he possibly could.
