I was skeptical because of all of the positive reviews that I read online about Dr. Gross and his staff but boy was I wrong. When I entered the office I was greeted with kind smiles and salutations which I expected but the comfortable chairs and color t.v. was a huge bonus since I was 15 minutes early for my 12 o' clock appointment. Surprisingly there were only 2 others in the waiting room with me but they were whisked off to the back in no time. As much as I hate to admit it, I actually fell asleep while sitting there but was awakened by a sweet voice calling out "Teddybear" which was a nickname that I had been given years ago. Slightly embarrassed for falling asleep I quickly came to my senses and began the ritual of signing in. I did not have dental insurance and was planning to pay in cash until I was informed that I could purchase insurance right there which I did. It paid for all of my x- rays as well as the doctor visit. After answering a few routine questions I returned to my seat but was soon greeted by one of the technicians and led to the back. I was surprised at how deep the building went as well as the amount of different rooms there were each with it's own purpose. I was thoroughly impressed with all of the high tech gadgets pertaining to dental work that was in each of these rooms that I could see into. Finally, we reached "my room". That's right folks, I had my own room. I hate those dentists that have multiple people sprawled out side by side doing dental work. Dental work is a private thing and not to be mass produced. Anyway, I was seated and the technician began her spiel but in a caring, kind way. I had questions and demands before I was letting anyone go into my mouth. She answered most of my questions and assured me that Dr. Gross would answer the rest. I felt secure. She had a way about her that made you feel that way. We took a few x- rays of the teeth that were bothering me. A few minutes later I got to meet Dr. Gross for the first time. He's a very nice gentleman and answered all of my questions before I let him look into my mouth. He was not happy as to what he had seen and I could tell by the look on his face that he was genuinely concerned. I'm not going to go into details but in the end we came up with a game plan to move forward. They took another x- ray but this time the machine was in another room. Man was it cool. You had to insert your face into the middle of the machine while bitting down on a disposable piece of plastic. I believe the bitting down on the plastic was to keep you from moving while the machine revolved around your head all the while taking photos/x-rays of your teeth in a 3D format. It was over with in about 3 minutes and I was back to where I started an hour ago, in the waiting room. I felt good as to how things had gone and was looking forward to my next appointment which I was given in just a few minutes of waiting. They had to give me a prescription for some infection that I had going on before returning for my next visit.. I'm just a regular guy that needed dental help. Dr. Goss and his team basically rolled out the red carpet for me and made me feel safe and secure. I was treated with such kindness that I almost did not want to leave. This doctor and his team are top notch professionals in my book and I would highly recommend " Dental Care of Greensboro" to everyone that needs any kind of dental work. Two thumbs up from this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBEWARE: I had an appointment with Dr. Gross. He is great! No complaints..but the office policies are unacceptable. I was seen fairly quickly. Had to wait a week after being seen for terrible dental pain to meet with someone with an estimate. I met with the gentleman for the estimate last wednesday and was told in order to schedule my appointment for my dental work to be completed that I needed to pay up front..so I paid the money to schedule my appointment. At NO TIME was I advised that if I didn't answer the phone to confirm my appointment, that it would be cancelled. There is no policy that states this anywhere in the office or in the paperwork. When I spoke to the gentleman who took my payment to SCHEUDLE my appointment, I was told that "we will see you Monday." I guess so...they had my money. Well, they contacted me on Saturday when I was in a class. I wasn't able to call them back. They cancelled my appointment. The appointment that I had already paid for. I have never had a surgeon, doctor or dentist that has ever cancelled an appointment for not confirming. Nor was I made aware that if I didn't confirm, my appointment would be cancelled. They have NO policy implemented and I was told by the office staff that there wasn't a written policy, it was just what they were "told to do." When I asked for them to refund my money so I could go see another dentist, I was told that they won't refund back to my card, they would send me a check. 600+ dollars that they can't refund back the same way they took. A few sketchy things to be aware of is that out of all the dentists in Guilford county, I have yet to have been charged money to schedule an appointment, and I've never been charged anything other than my deductible and copay for my insurance. But I was charged my deductible, copay and the estimate of my portion of the work YET TO BE COMPLETED, just to schedule an appointment that they cancelled because I didn't confirm, but the payment was confirmation of my appointment, then they refuse to refund to the method of payment used, they wanted to mail a check and there is no written policy in force explaining their rules. I was able to find another dentist to do the work for a lesser price than I was quoted, which was supposedly based off my insurance and they will be doing the procedure tomorrow. Dr. Gross is really nice, my issue isn't with him, it's with the practice and how they make up the rules as they go and don't advise patients on said rules. I will not be recommending anyone here unless all you need is preventative care. But BEWARE: If you pay money and you don't answer your phone or call them back, they will cancel and not even let you know. They also claimed they called multiple days in a row, which according to my phone records was not true, as well as stated they sent me text messages as well. Me nor my husband who also had an appointment for the same time as me, never received not one text message. He never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really hate to have to say this, but I can no longer recommend this practice to anyone. I had been going to Carolina Dental Arts for a year or so and I hadnāt had any issues until recently. I am giving them 2 stars because the staff is very kind and the office is clean. I came in for a simple cleaning and left with my mouth in the worst pain Iāve felt from a dentist appointment.
The woman who cleaned my teeth was clearly inexperienced and did not seem to know how to work any of the equipment, including the chair. She would use the electric tooth brush on the highest speed and literally try to scrub my teeth, one-by-one with it, like she was trying to scrub off all of my enamel. Iām someone who takes care of her teeth and comes in for routine appointments, so I know there wasnāt anything āespeciallyā in need of scrubbing for her to do my cleaning that way. I complained of pain to her and she simply got confused but didnāt stop. Then, without my permission, when she finished she took a wet paper towel and wiped it across my entire face- not just my mouth, claiming sheād gotten toothpaste all over my face. This isnāt even everything she said or did to make this appointment horrible but I left with sore gums AND sore teeth. Itās been an entire day later and I am still in pain.
Afterwards, it seemed like the people who came to speak to me after she finished were trying to convince me that I had some sort of (new) issue with my gums and flossing. I explained to them that Iāve been coming to the office for over one year (new staff) and Iāve done everything they reccommended to clean my teeth better, including daily flossing, using a waterpik along with flossing, and using an oral b electric toothbrush, so I couldnāt understand why I suddenly would have problems with my gums or teeth. I tried to explain to the dentist how I was in pain during my cleanings, which has never happened before and I donāt have sensitive teeth, but I didnāt really feel like he was listening. It felt like his concern was me scheduling my next appointment.
I will not be returning to this practice and now Iāve got to find a different, better dentist, which is annoying because everything was going fine at this office before now. Iām also very concerned about the potential damage of what was done to my teeth during the cleaning and how long I...
