From the start of our experience it was NOT in any way related to the Hot Wheels Monster Truck Show . To be clear also we were not asking for any special treatment other than a place to sit with my husband that is currently in a wheel chair . This also was not a sold out full house show . We pulled into parking lot like we always do to park beside our Hauler that transports our Monster Trucks . The ones that reform at these shows for the fans the ones that are our living our bread and butter .
Security threatened to call the police until I was able to get a hold of our driver to come explain everything that I had already explained while I was getting my husband in his wheelchair . Once with full access credentials that were immediately NOT recognized . We followed the safety requirements and said hello to our crew and went to find a place to sit .
Although there is assigned ticket holder seats we were asked to move countless times without any of the supervisors reaching out to Hot Wheels or checking if there was a ticket holder that purchased these seats .
We were then told that without tickets we were not to sit where we had been told to sot ( our third time being told to move at this point before doors even were opened.
At that point we did finally mention that we owned the trucks and not before . It did not matter . Once we went down to pitts where we should not be and asked for help . A Hot Wheels staff member contacted the venues security and were told a completely different story . We have been in the business long enough thankfully the HW staff member knew who to believe.
In the end we were asked to sit off in a corner but if ticket holders came to a wheel chair open area we would have to move again.
This was NOT a sold out show because it was the 4 of the weekend .
We were NOT asking for special treatment in any way only to have a safe place for a Wheelchair.
14 years in this business and this venues staff rates at the top for disrespectful treatment and I feel sorry for anyone in a wheelchair or anyone that is a part of a show or family member that comes that is part of a show . We do this for families it’s our enjoyment to see the smiles . But at the end of the day it is also our job and it’s is a very hard manual labor job with long hours .
My husband and I did not deserve this treatment by the staff at this venue . All before doors opened to the public . I can say it all could have been a smooth experience of everyone involved that works for this venue...
Read moreWent recently to see a show that we had previously only seen at Charlotte. Was a bit apprehensive because The Greensboro coliseum was a bit smaller. However, after everything I can completely say that I have no regrets whatsoever and will permanently be seeing this show at this location. The parking was so much easier, organized and safer feeling. As we entered inside, I and my elderly mother had to use the restroom. I was pleasantly surprised when walking into the restroom that they had an employee supervising things. And this woman was on the ball. She deserves a raise. It was the type of restroom that had two entrances and she was watching like a hawk pointing between the two lines alternating to stalls that were opening and instructing people to go in and out so that everyone got a fair turn and things moved smoothly while also taking quick moments to make sure that people weren't blocking the sink so people could wash their hands. I was very impressed. Things were clean and they didn't smell. It might sound crazy but when you've been to places that are disgusting and crowded and a hot mess, it makes all the difference in the world. When trying to find our seats multiple employees offered help before we even asked, they then led us to the appropriate area, and didn't make us feel rushed when my mother couldn't move very fastly on the steps. During the show I could see many many employees in their bright yellow jackets, just keeping an eye on the crowd, and it made me feel very safe and comfortable to know that we were taken care of. As we were leaving, the traffic was directed out fairly smoothly by friendly people. All in all I was very impressed. I know it's hard to deal with the big crowds like that, but they're doing a...
Read moreFirst I must tell you at 78 going to a concert for the first time was a bucket list item. Going to a Blake Shelton concert Friends and Heros was a life time memory. I want to complement the coliseum on several things. Great staff, everyone there was dedicated to making the event pleasant and safe. The facility was very accommodating for those of us who needed special assistance. Although I did not need a wheel chair there were many available and lots of available help. The handicapped seating accommodations were great for the show although I'll admit it is a distance to the restrooms. Of course it was crowded at the concessions no special accommodations there. I would personally add some different food concessions to the mix and open more for the concerts. They need to double or triple the places to purchase event swag. Compliments to the knowledge for the floor plan, the seats were placed well for viewing the show and the extended stage brought the performers into the crowd for great interaction. As for the show, I could not be more impressed. Top performance by top country stars. If the coliseum always offers this quality of events, I'll be back. For this event I was especially pleased with the crowd who were all very friendly, courteous, respectful and had a great time. Yes there were a few Karens in the ladies room but you can't weed out this at an event this size. Great job Greensboro. Thanks for a...
