IF YOU WANT YOUR HAIR TO BE PRACTISED ON, go waste your money here! Ended up giving myself a buzz cut!
This might be long so hold tight! Went in for a perm to cover my alopecia (bald)spot which im very self conscious about. They had me in perm rods for all 20-30mins with my neck hanging off the sink for all that time. I have had perms before but never with my neck in that reverse chop head position with the back of my head pinched by the perm rods and hair pulled painfully in that weird position. My hair burned, smoked and i literally smelled and felt it burning my scalp. The student was panicking because the teacher cant be found and i raised my concern politely twice but really im screaming inside with scalp stinging and neck cramped. I can only shake my leg and wish it was over The teacher came out and said her cat got ran over. She ran cold water in my hair on the sink while still on perm rods to cool my head. Literally. Take note i was frustrated but also sympathetic of her cat. They took the perm rods out and hair looked okay, although teacher told me to trim off some of the longer ones. I came home and saw closely the “longer ones” were not curled and so i have this straight hairs on the lower back of my head and the top part curled. That lower part area which i s straight im sure is where they didnt get my hair with the solution because i was laying on it on the edge of the sink under all the rods. Finally the hair dried the next day and it was frizzy and dead on where the teacher put solution. It was straight and just dry(curl didnt take) on where the student put solution. Ending? I buzzed off all my hair because one side is burned and frizzy and other is wacky with straight and curly hair at random.
Be that as it may, i do not want to condemn the ladies that did my hair. I do tho, want to call out some mistakes. Im one of those who dont really talk much, but this is a school so hopefully this educates other clients. NO1 MISTAKE. NEVER WET PERMED HAIR WITH COLD WATER, unless its a burning her scalp. BUT, when its burning we all know thats already a mistake. NO2 MISTAKE Always tell the clients whats coming next. I was never prepared to have my neck hang off a sink for almost 30 mins. With perm rods pinching my head and back of my neck where im laying on it. Never have i ever in salons or even doing perm to myself was i ever had to hang over a sink in reverse GUILLOTINE. This is a big mistake, you can but a u-bucket around clients shoulders to keep it tidy OR, i couldave just done better by doing it to myself NOT in that pathetic situation. NO3 When head is smelling like its burning, the scalp will 100% flake and be sore after. So fair warning to be better at your craft.
I confess, i did like how it looked leaving the place., it was curly and ok, (icant see the back) but after a day when it dried and frizzed and showed all the dead hair i looked like a had with dandruff coming down my face and everywhere on my hair.
I know this can happen to anyone and the ladies who did this never intended to. I hope its just another lesson on learning your craft better.. because or else.. a botched job! ✌️ Fyi, im in the same field.
Anyway, hair grows...

Read moreI used to go here all the time. I haven’t been in several years, but wanted some shine to my hair & my hair dresser didn’t have any openings. I wanted a clear gloss. The instructor talked me into putting a light brown what I thought was gloss on it She said it would WASH out in 30-40 shampoos. I thought I’d give it a try since it would wash out if I didn’t like it. Huge mistake! Over 2 months later it is still in my hair. I went back to see what they could do, only to find out they had put Demi-permanent color on my hair. It doesn’t wash out at all — it fades out. However, it doesn’t fade to your natural color. I was salt & pepper & it has faded to a brassy “no color”. The worst part - I now have roots showing! When I complained, the director said she felt it was very close to my natural color. I was shocked! How is brassiness remotely close to salt & pepper? Her solution? They washed my hair in Dawn dish cleaner, wrapped it, & put me under the dryer for 20 minutes. Then did a conditioning treatment. It still didn’t lift the color out. I’m stuck with a brassy no color until my shoulder length hair grows out!!!...
