I reviewed this place three years ago, however I decided to redo my review in order to reflect my new thoughts after a new visit. I am unsure if this place has changed management or the company policy has changed, but quite frankly, the buyback simply is not worth it anymore and the collection for sale is suffering a lot as a result. Granted they have not changed their prices on their books which are still low, but they are still at a huge mark up compared to what they buy them for. Some sections are more stocked than others as a result, more often than not with the same titles, and the last time I was there some shelves were completely empty.
The store was relatively clean for the most part, but the employees seemed to be on edge, which I can't exactly blame them for given how hard retail has become in light of the pandemic, but it made for a really tense atmosphere - I only hope that management and the company is treating them well.
Overall, I dropped my 5 star review to 3 stars. The selection has become pretty dismal as a result of their buyback program offering less than what it used to. It's still worth dropping in from time to time, but I no longer tell people to go out of their...

Read moreThis used to be my go to place for comics. Within the past couple of months, they've gotten a new person in charge of comics and they are now ridiculously over priced. They seem to be checking eBay and pricing according to the highest priced listing. I've also noticed all bronze aged books seem to be priced at $3, regardless of condition. These are books I routinely find at actual comic shops in dollar or fifty cent bins. Last time I was there they had a book with a giant marker drawing covering the cover, still priced at $3. Not a key book in any way so no reason for a destroyed book like that not to be in clearance. I used to buy stacks of comics on my visits, average total would be $50ish. Not bad for someone who was in weekly. My last visit I left with 1 comic. They're pricing themselves out of the comic game. I'll be sticking to comic shops or going to the north side HPB...
