I saw 4.2 stars and thought if they had a walk in available why not try it? HERE'S WHY
Very small shop but close to my apartment, even better.
No hand soaking, lotion, or prep at all - straight to the nails (OK, I thought, maybe they will do that at the end?) Nope. No lotion, no cuticle pushing, no hangnail removal, nothing. There was quite a bit of oil dumped on the cuticles and left there when she was done, didn't even bother to rub it in...
Placed my hands on the wrist rest and the towel which was there was already wet (gross)
I had not had my nails done in years and thought maybe just a simple French manicure. (She didn't ask me what type of style or anything just painted away and then asked) - little to no communication the entire time; which was super awkward as it was only me, her, and two other employees there. And she was fine talking to them but as I only speak English I had no idea what was going on and just sat there. (I do not have a problem with people speaking other languages, I don't mind people having conversations with others in another language around me in fact I find it pretty fascinating/enjoyable and have always loved learning about other cultures - and I do not assume they are talking about me, even if they were, I don't care; but at this time with me receiving a service without any type of conversation it was just SO awkward).
She gave me very thick, uneven tips (what I had wanted was thin/minimal).
There was paint under my fingernails and on the finger tips that she didn't bother removing. And when I got out into the sun the white for the French tips was uneven and some parts are more transparent than others.
I asked a couple questions trying to get a conversation going while I was in the chair - nope. She had one ear bud in and played with her phone when she got up (repeatedly) to get tools/materials from other stations.
Didn't use the Barbicide on the desk for any of the tools, nor did any of them come from the bottle (I don't know much about paint brushes and thought - maybe that would be damaging to them) she used scissors on the acrylic nail tips and I guess those don't need to be sterilized? She didn't really bother picking the sharp pieces of nail out of the towel after she cut them off, just wiped most on the floor. The desk, UV light, and steriglass partition were all covered in different colors of polish.
Why didn't I say anything? I'm not sure, I was exhausted after a long day of work and then errands and just wanted to relax. I also didn't want to tell her the design wasn't what I wanted because I didn't want to spend even more time there having her take off the existing polish and redoing it, more awkward silence, etc. Next time I will do a lot more research.

Read moreI just found my forever salon!! After. Being disappointed by the subpar services offered at other salons, I finally found Spa nails! I was looking to try dip nails for the first time as I work 2 jobs and need my polish to have staying power. Ethan is the front desk/ concierge and he made my appointment for my pedicure and dip mani and was very genuine and welcoming. I don’t remember the ladies name who did my pedicure, but it was the best pedicure I’ve ever gotten. My feet are sensitive and she was gentle and detail oriented with a happy demeanor. ky did my dip nails and he takes pride in his work, my dip nails look amazing and are not super thick like I’ve seen on other people. My nails look very natural. I was asked if I wanted complimentary beverage and pricing info so that I could select the right package for my needs. I’m not one to write reviews, but I was so impressed , I felt it necessary to share with others who are having. Hard time finding a Good high quality nail salon with kind Staff. Huge thank you to the staff at spa nails for the wonderful experience! I will definitely be recommending this...
Read moreI'm relatively new to getting acrylic/gel, but I have several close friends who have gone other places and they always compliment my nails when I get them done here! The pricing is very reasonable for someone wanting a simple set, and the staff is friendly and does a good job. I've been working and rebooking with Annie specifically, and I'm very happy with her application and artwork! I can't speak to more complicated sets since mine have mostly been more simple (she did do great airbrushed aura nails for my birthday though), but I'd definitely recommend. If you're new to nails like I was, just know that a new set will cost more than a refill, so don't get too sticker-shocked thinking it's that much every time. The refills have been about $70-90 (very competitive pricing when you look up other nail techs) depending on artwork and have lasted 3-4 weeks before any nail lifting. I'm hard on my nails, so this is honestly impressive. Never lost one yet from Annie's...
