Not my best experience here.
I've been eating at this restaurant roughly every couple of months for the past year or so with my neighbor, who is a longtime customer, but today's visit was a bit disappointing for me and very possibly the last one for my companion.
This was the busiest the restaurant has been since I've been coming but I'm not sure if that accounts for the problems we experienced. First, we had to wait several minutes to be seated, and despite there being other tables available, the hostess/cashier showed us to a table by to the exit door, which today meant having very chilly air rush over us every few minutes.
The table was clean and properly set, and our waitress appeared promptly with coffee and water and frequently enough while we were deciding what to order. I ordered the Ham Benedict (with hash browns) and my companion chose a "Build Your Own" breakfast with two eggs (over medium), hash browns and turkey bacon, with a side of ranch dressing.
I didn't check the time but we finished our coffee and a refill (at least 20 minutes?) before we were offered an apology for the delay ("a problem with the Hollandaise") and assurance that it would be only a few more minutes. It was more like 10 more.
The orders did arrive complete, other than there being no ranch dressing, which it took two requests--to two different waitpersons--to get, halfway through my companion's meal (with a muttered apology "for the problems").
We were again offered more coffee, which I accepted but my companion did not, preferring more water instead, which also took two requests to get.
I also added a side order of biscuits (as neither of our meals came with them), which were delivered with the rest of our meal but, once we'd finished all we could eat, our check was dropped off (before being asked if we wanted anything else) but we were not asked if we needed to-go containers for our leftover potatoes (no) or biscuit (yes). Again, we had to track down another waiter than our own to request one.
Finally, when paying, I provided my customer rewards information, expecting to have credits from my last visit or two, but there were none showing (and which I know I hadn't used).
I won't say I won't be back, since this experience was an anomaly for me, but my companion, who has previously had only comparable ones, specifically...
Read moreOver the years I've been to 3 different Biscuits locations and each time have only eaten breakfast. I can attest to the temperature, taste and quantity of their French toast, pancakes, omelets and hash browns.
The pancakes and French toast have always been cooked perfectly! Soft, fluffy, the perfect temperature and with a healthy helping of butter.
I was also impressed by their hash browns. They were golden brown, soft and steaming hot on the inside, crispy on the outside, and were even cooked on BOTH sides just like you'd do at home! Many of their competitors require you to ask for this, but Biscuits has the sense to just do it in first place.
The omelet although tasty lacked the character I was looking for as far as texture. I had the meat lovers and all three meats (bacon, sausage, and ham) were diced up in the same small squares. I imagine this is done for efficiency but it was a miss for me.
A random variety of sizes and shapes would've created even more of a home cooked feeling. I also suspect that the eggs were poured out of a carton (likely commercial 5 gallon bucket, but you get the idea) versus freshly cracked and mixed with milk. Again, if this is the case I'm sure it's done for efficiency.
The coffee serving was large enough that I declined a refill so this is a plus. Unsure but it's probably a 10 or even 12oz mug.
The waitress was friendly and attentive even though she had 4 other tables I felt comfortable tipping 18%.
Due to it being an open Cafe style dining room you can expect a little more white noise than their competitors and they might consider playing soft music in order to combat this.
The kitchen is open too which I think is really cool and it instilled that extra level of confidence that Biscuits is proud - rightfully so - of the product they're serving. It's also fun to see the assorted staff dash around with their respective duties as they take good care of you.
This location shares parking with several other businesses so depending on when you visit you might not be park directly in front of the restaurant.
All and all it was another pleasant experience and I look forward to my next visit so I can explore more...

Today Feb19th 2023 I visited the Gresham location biscuits cafe. I am a regular, my husband and I visit here quite frequently. In fact we subscribe to the membership points system. Today I was served veggie head omelette that was made with rotten avocados. No, this was not the normal browning of a very ripe avocado, this was a rotten avocado with black spots. I called the waitress to show her the rotten food and she dismissed it as a normal situation. The manager also dismissed it as a normal situation and in fact became confrontational with my party of 5 because we no longer wanted the rotten food. The manager refused to apologize and insulted me by offering to take half the price of the meal off. This was a $16 meal. I did not want or need a free meal. What I wanted was a genuine concern for serving rotten food and an apology. The manager was flippant about the situation as if this is a regular occurrence at this location. I am concerned that this is the norm. How many times have I been served food made with rotten ingredients at this location? Please call me back. I have photos I would love to share with you. This manager was a tall man with a large tattoo on their fore-arm. I will leave a google review as well. The appropriate way to handle this situation was to apologize and reassure your customer that this is a one off mistake and you will check with the kitchen to make sure it doesn’t happen. That is not what we received. I am extremely disappointed and hoping that we don’t get sick from consuming rotten food. I am just hoping that this “service” we received has nothing to do with...
