Dropped off my watch for cleaning and was quoted a price for the service. When I picked the watch up the fee was 3x the amount quoted because the watch person replaced two spring pieces that were worn and holding the watch together. Granted the watch is 40 years old and will last another 40 years, but a best practice is to call the customer first before proceeding with the repair and getting approval for any additional service and fee. The woman who assisted me was kind and apologetic and when I asked if this is normal she said no. She added that if I wanted the old ones back on the watch they would do that. (?) This put her in an unfair position but she handled it gracefully. She then checked with the manager and the extra charge was removed. Having the manager deliver the news would have made me feel a little better. It felt like this happens often. The watch looks great and apparently in better condition, but it left a bad impression with me and I won't be back or refer anyone. The jeweler I went to for years, closed recently and hoping Ahee would be my new jeweler. Will keep looking and will always wonder if the spring pieces really ever needed...
Read moreTLDR: Service took twice as long as quoted, no updates or explanations, and after job was completed Ahee didn't send me my watch as they promised so I had to physically pick up the watch, traveling in from out of state.
Brought my Patek in around December 1 to buy a new band. Ahee told me that it will take 3-4 months to get the band put on and they will ship the watch out to me since I live out of state - fine, easy enough. In April of 2025 I still haven't heard anything (5-6 months), so after the order being 2-3 months late they hadn't updated me. I called and said they had no new information. Then Ahee called approximately 3 weeks later only to tell me they still had no new information on the watch. The watch was finally back into the store in July (8 months after ordering the band and double the amount of time I was quoted) and Ahee said they would ship it out to me and THEY NEVER SENT THE WATCH. After a month or two of not sending the watch, I ended up taking a detour from a trip to Chicago to physically pick up the watch.
For a high end watch store, it was exceptionally poor customer service. I still can't wrap my head around how they don't send my...
Read moreI've been in a lot of watch shops in NYC, Southern California, and Michigan but this is the first one I've really, really enjoyed. I was looking at their nice selection of Pateks and made it abundantly clear I wasn't planning on buying for at least 6 months, most likely more. In other shops I either get brushed off after saying this or given maybe 20 minutes of service at the most.
Ahee didn't do this. The salesman not only took the time to show me all the watches I wanted to see, he told me interesting stories about his time in the watch industry, news I didn't see on the Internet until much later, and was very well informed of what he had to offer and what existed in the market place. Even after I was disappointed with the watch I came in initially to look at, that he removed from the plastic it comes in to show me, he was pleasant and held my attention until another caught my eye.
Not because he was pushy and pulled it out, but just because it caught my glance. Meanwhile no one gave my wife a hard time over our newborn being infatuated with the full length mirror.
I plan on buying my grail watch from here. It's...
