I give this company and Bobby, the manager 0 stars. I ordered a Tempur-Pedic Pro Adapt on April 29, 2024. To this day, it still has not been delivered. The contract says 3-6 weeks. The salesman and manager, Bobby told me “it never takes that long usually 2 weeks, 3 weeks at most.” I have heard every excuse possible from this company. Here are some examples “oh Tempur-Pedic has a new warehouse in Indiana and they are running behind in filling orders.” Here is another one “The Memorial Day sale has pushed them behind.” Mind you, I ordered mine on April 29th. I called for the first time in early June and I couldn’t even get a call back from Bobby. I had to speak with one of his colleagues to find out that my bed wasn’t even expected to be at the warehouse until June 22 which is 8 weeks out. I ended up having to go into the store to see Bobby. When I asked what he could do for me, he went through a list of things he couldn’t do like he never really understood the question. I felt disrespected, dismissed, and furthermore I felt ignored. I finally asked if he could throw in some pillows which I could care less about. He did agree to that. I really wanted to feel listened to and heard but I never got that with Bobby or American Mattress. I finally broke down and called the American Mattress Customer Service line and spoke with Kevin who stated he would have a regional manager call me within 24 hours. Well, no regional manager returned my call. Bobby called though and went over with me again that their Tempur-Pedic deliveries SHOULD be occurring over the next 2 weeks. I called Kevin from Customer Service again and he said he would need to contact the VP or maybe even the President. This was yesterday. . . Still no return call. I called Tempur-Pedic and although they cannot help me because I ordered from one of their vendors, they guarantee all deliveries within 30 days. It’s been over 8 weeks now since I ordered this bed and have been paying on it, even paying larger than the required amount because I follow through and pay my bills off early. Hopefully, this review will get their attention. I would NEVER buy a bed from them again. Our experience has been and is continuously horrible!!! Right after we made a purchase the saleman moved to a different location, we have yet to be made whole from a purchase made in January and it is now April!! We never recieved our base and the mattress feels terrible without it. The bed which was supposed to help back pain instead exacerbated it. We called around and eventually spoke to someone who told us the base would be here mid March, we waited and then reached out end of March and asked about the status, only to be told they made a mistake and there was no ecd for the base. We then asked for a refund for the base that we never recieved they told us they would send the refund and arrange to pick up the mattress. We advised that as soon as they refunded the base they could pick up their mattress, that was weeks ago. We have since sent emails and gotten no response. We tried to work with them, but so far we have not recieved our refund and no correspondence regarding the current status in getting this horrible experience resolved. Read moreI was surprised to see a relatively large retail space that sells mattresses in my community as there are usually smaller stores here and we have to go much further out (or order online) to buy things like mattresses. But I needed a new mattress and box spring and prefer to shop locally when I can (especially if the company was founded in Michigan) so I decided to check it out.
The store is large, light-filled and modern. The mattresses are very organized and easy to evaluate because there is plenty of space around them to assess the firmness and to lie on top of them if you want.
The salesperson (Gerald Savalle) was very knowledgeable and helpful. He understood what I needed (a relatively low use set for a guest room) and did not try to steer me to a more expensive product (but when our high-end master bedroom mattress needs replacing I will definitely buy it from here).
Bought a great mattress and box spring from Gerry at the Grosse Pointe Woods location that will be delivered on Friday. I really appreciate the pleasant, professional salesmanship and overall ease of this...
