Alvin's Island - Gulf Shores #19 — Local services in Gulf Shores

Today I visited Alvin island at 14:38pm and I asked the employees behind the register where the “salt life” stickers were.. they all acted like they had no idea and told me to go check somewhere else in the back of the store, and as I moved my way thru the store, I found them myself on the OPPOSITE side of the store.. like 10 FOOT from the register UP FRONT to the left of the registers!!!! As I was looking through the stickers, a large loss prevention woman with a red shirt on with an ear piece walks out of the side door and spins around really fast and walks BACK INTO the store as if shes trying to catch me shoplifting!!! She also tells me to go to the back of the store and check over there and I said “thank you but I was looking for the stickers right here”! I worked very hard for my money and I could have literally spent my money anywhere and I did have a large shopping bag from souvenir city with $100 worth of stuff in it. I certainly do not work as hard as I do … to come here on a five day vacation that I PAID FOR MYSELF to be treated like a thief. I would not recommend shopping at this store at 100 W BEACH BLVD. Go ahead and spend your hard earned money somewhere else, and hopefully not be treated like a shoplifter. I make $80k a year. I certainly would not do anything to jeopardize my bread and butter. I work for the federal government little...

I came into Alvin’s Island #19 and made a purchase for a pair of swim shoes in which turned out to be defective. Per the policy stating that in order to exchange or return merchandise we had to have a receipt and so we returned back to the store with the receipt in hand and was told that because we had taken the shoes out to the beach and worn them in the sand they could not be exchanged for another pair. At this point in the conversation I asked to speak with a manager and was told that the manager was not available and that he/she had said they could not be returned for exchange. Knowing that the associate at the counter was being dishonest I asked again to speak with the manager and her response was the manager is busy and cannot speak with you at the current time. I then explained to her that if she was in customer service this was absolutely not the right way to handle this matter and she stated there was nothing she could do for us. Every customer should think twice before shopping at this location and realize that they are not doing what’s best for their customers!!! All they care about is the almighty dollar and not helping...

DONOT buy shirts from this store. The quality is very poor and you’ll ruin other clothes in the wash. We spent $40 on 2 shirts. My husbands shirt had lettering on it that started peeling off within 2 hrs of wearing it and it hadn’t even been washed yet. If you wash their shirts that are color then BE CAREFUL as to wash it by itself. I washed my shirt and 1/2 the color came out and all over my other clothes in the wash. I spent a lot of time rewashing my clothes to get the color out of my regular clothes. My shirt now has streaks of color missing in it from where we washed it. My husbands shirt did the same in the wash. It was hot pink and now after one wash, it’s pastel pink with streaks in it. Worst purchase ever!!! The fact that you can’t exchange a defective item that should never have been sold in the first place is ridiculous and from the reviews I read, this seems to be a pattern for anything they sell. I will definitely never buy here again.! Cheaply...
