Shrimpy’s was an okay experience. The mini golf was on par with most smaller golf places around the area. But don’t be fooled by “it’s the cheapest”. We had 6 people and brought the “buy 1 get 1 half-off” coupon, thinking we would pay full price for 3 and half price for 3 - thus, the most affordable golf in the area. WRONG. We had to pay full price for 5 adults and the guy took the 1/2 price off the one kid player. Lame.
We also ate there. I felt bad b/c there seemed to be only one guy working alone. The “loaded” parm fries that we paid extra for were disappointing, the blackened fish sandwich was meh. The flatbread and mozzarella sticks were surprisingly good. My husband liked his burger “fine” and chicken tenders were also fine - standard grill food.
The only reason i gave it a 4th star was b/c it is probably the most affordable alcohol in the area. An ON TAP fairhope blueberry lemon pale ale for $3.50?? Unheard of on the beach. And most mixed drinks were $3.50, too.
If you have just a few people and wanna drink and play mini golf, this is a win. If you have a bigger fam like us, i don’t recommend spending...
Read moreOur first time to Shrimpy's was during shrimpfest, so parking and traffic was a mess, but we were lucky to find one parking spot available. Every business was more interested in selling $20 parking spots than having a spot for customers, but I digress.
Having tried most of the mini golf places in town, the fam wanted to try lunch and mini golf at Shrimpy's. We arrived a little after 1pm and ordered lunch first. The place wasn't very busy, what with most of the parking used for shrimp fest.
We ordered 3 flatbreads, one bacon cheeseburger, and 2 corn dogs. The food was fine. The problem was that it took 50 minutes to get our food! I don't know what the problem was, but that wasn't cool.
We enjoyed the minigolf. It was $55 for the 5 of us, 2 adults, and 3 kids. The course was kept clean despite the recent rains, and the cups played well.
If we had gotten our food in a decent amount of time would have...
Read moreWe got to this place around 10:15 p.m. they said they take money until 10:30 p.m. . When we walked in the two kids that were working did not look real happy on us being there. There was twelve of us we all bought ice cream and a mini round of golf. They did not bother to tell us that the lights would go off at a certain time as a matter of fact they didn't say very much to us at all. We were on about the 10th hole and the Lights Went Out. When we went to see what was happening the kid was standing at the door taking our clubs and balls so needless to say we paid for a round of golf and only got to play half. I would say it is a poor business practice to turn the lights off on your paying customers. Very...
