Questionable and dishonest business practices. Consigners beware. Consignors make sure that all agreements are written on the receipt as to what the split is. He will ask you what you want out of the item you have brought in to consign and our agreement was that he would add 40% onto this amount for his cut. We had a disagreement about what had happened to an antique dresser set that seemed to have disappeared from his shop. First he told me it was at another shop across the street…it was not. He was not able to come up with a receipt showing it was sold and couldn’t remember selling it…this was an exceptional piece that would be hard to forget and nobody else works the store except him. This man knows everything in his shop. He got extremely rude with me and very aggressive saying he was going to call the police. He owed me for other pieces that had been sold and when I told him how much he owed me, he said minus the 40%. I said I have been dealing with you for years and it has always been that you would add the 40% onto what I wanted for it. He also jacks up the price significantly, but only gives you what you told him you wanted for it. He said, “Is that written on the receipt?” I knew right then that he was dishonest. He literally threw the money at me that he owed me after I told him I would not be leaving...

Guthrie OK is a great stop for the traveler wanting to take a break and check out some antique spots! A lot of variety to be found in several shops, all in close proximity. This shop is large, but very cluttered. Two floors. The upstairs opens up a lot. Some high and some reasonable pricing. Good variety though, and I did find a few small things to add to my collections. They have a Very Nice collection of mid-century Fire King mixing bowls in some of the harder to find patterns / all in wonderful condition ..... and ALL with some very hefty $$$$. I found some pretty custard uranium glass. The man behind the counter told me $65.00 even with tax, and then didn't honor the deal. Later my bank said the charge was $70.85.
