After 2 years of waiting and 4 years of ownership's hard work, don’t let the exterior fool you. Walking in, I was greeted warmly and seated immediately, as they have ample seating in the large, spacious, industrial, historic building. Paul, the owner, has done an amazing job with keeping the character and elevating it with great charm. Handmade tables, bar, and other features were constructed by local tradesmen, and they did a great job.
My server, Lydia, was at my table within a minute of seating. She was kind and helpful in explaining the menu. She checked in on me and made sure food was to my satisfaction. Great job. The pizza was freshly made, and the dough is made from scratch. Right now only one type of crust is available, with plans to expand this in the future. Pizza offerings rotate to keep new pies and flavors coming. My favorite pizza from this trip was the pepperoni. The fresh garlic added to the pepperoni just hit the taste buds right. My side dipping sauce of marinara could have been reduced with a few extra minutes on the heat, but still had good flavor.
Fresh sandwiches with good-quality ingredients are also available. I enjoyed the “Smoke Stack.”
Food is brought on paper plates, so do not worry about your kids breaking plates and bring them in for a fresh pizza pie!
They have a full bar. Local and import beers are on tap, and many other beers are available. At this time, their own beers are not available but possibly will be available in the weeks to come. They are not rushing the process and making sure a good-quality product is brought to their customers before introducing it. Great detail is going into beer production. Carbon filter and reverse osmosis water systems are being utilized to maintain consistency. I can’t wait to come back to try when they release their first brews.
All servers were well kept, clean, and had smiles on their faces. I did not see any staff playing on their phones; all were attentive and working hard.
The restaurant is clean and well maintained. I had the pleasure of taking a walk with the owner through the restaurant and taking in the smells of fresh hops in a beer wort that was being prepped.
This is a veteran owned business. I spoke with the owner about why he started the business and why here. He said he wanted to bring something to Guthrie that we didn’t have and something that can help be an anchor to our residents by providing jobs and a place where families can come have good food and build relationships with neighbors.
They have a great private party area on the second floor to host a birthday party, guys night, or business lunch or dinner.
Future plans of the ownership sound amazing as well, but I’m not going to spoil any surprises he may have!
Logan County, come out and support this great local spot, spread the news, and let’s...
Read moreAfter waiting 30+ minutes after entering and being seated, a waitress finally appeared at our table. Because my sister, mother and I were the last to join our party of 13, I mistakenly assumed our orders had already been taken. The first dialog was not an apology for the length of time in taking our orders, but how slammed they were. I looked around to see a restaurant about half full. Our order was taken. The pizza was delivered to our table, our drinks were not. After waiting, I went to the bar and waited some more. The bar tender finally asked what I needed, I informed her that our pizza had been delivered, but we were still waiting on our drinks.
Eventually, they arrived. I informed my 93 year old mom, who does not hear well that our drinks had finally arrived. The waitress's response was to thank us for our patience. I was quick to inform her not to confuse being forced to wait had nothing to do with being patient. The pizza was unnecessarily greasy, the lack of service has spoiled the evening out with family.
A family sat at the table next to us and like us were left to wait. They asked if they could see our menus. We shared the menus and wished them the best of luck being seen by the waitress. I'm visiting from Tennessee, so my boycott won't affect them, but if tonight's experience is the best Guthrie Brewing Company has to offer, they will take care of killing any future business...
Read morePizza was good, we just got a pepperoni to gauge if we would try others since it was our first time. Reminds me of pizza from Romas before they changed it. Good bite and flavor. Not quite empire pizza but close enough if I don’t have to leave town to get it. A 20inch can run you $30 or more so prices are a little higher than I’d like but I get there’s a cost to do business.
Space is big and Mondays they play a game called singo and it is loud. We ended up taking our pizza home instead of dining in because it was just too much noise at the time.
Maybe they were short staffed, our waitress seemed to be running laps and tending to a larger party kind of leaving us to sit and wait to order. I usually tip in cash so I think she was upset when she looked at the receipt I asked for and saw $1 on my card since I didn’t see a $0 option and was leaving cash instead. She prob thought I wasn’t going to tip. She just tossed the receipt on the table and walked off with an attitude. I get it, I used to wait tables. I didn’t even get the chance to tell her I was leaving the tip in cash.
If we go back it will prob be to order and...
