I recently had the unfortunate experience of renting from what I can only describe as the worst landlord I've ever encountered. I feel it's my duty to share my terrible experience in the hope that others can avoid the nightmare I went through.
Neglectful Maintenance: From day one, it was clear that maintenance was not a priority for this landlord. Basic issues like old tiles, mice and roaches infestation and taking weeks for an exterminator to come. It's as if they thought it was acceptable to ignore their responsibilities.
Unresponsive Communication: Trying to get in touch with this the office was like pulling teeth. Calls and emails went unanswered for days, if not weeks. When we finally did manage to get a response, it was usually vague and unhelpful, leaving us in the dark about important matters concerning our lease.
Unfair Charges: When it came time to move out, I was hit with outrageous charges for normal wear and tear that should have been the landlord's responsibility. They charged $750 for paint. for a small studio apartment (I only lived there for 6 months) plus 2 months rent fee charge to break the lease because I couldn't live there anymore. Worst of all is that the apartment was only half painted when I moved in. Only the kitchen had been painted. When I told them this they said I should have mentioned it at the beginning. Either way $750 to paint 3 tiny walls is ridiculous!
In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering renting from this landlord to look elsewhere. Their neglect, unresponsiveness, and invasive behavior make them a nightmare to deal with. My hope is that by sharing my experience, others can avoid the stress and frustration that comes with renting from such an unprofessional and irresponsible landlord. Save yourself the headache and steer clear...
Read moreTERRIBLE COMPANY. DO NOT rent property from this company. When we were first signing the paperwork, the lady "Milda" that was with us for the lease signing, conveniently forgot to mention that there is a pet fee until we've already signed all the paperwork, meanwhile, she knew weeks before we had a dog and the animal will be living with us. And she never thought to mention that theres a pet fee or and increase in rent each month to have a pet. We've had multiple "missing" packages in our mail room which has picture proof of it being delivered. And they refuse to install cameras in our mail room or outside the building due "not wanting to be liable". The only cameras here are for the superintendent to watch his car, nothing else. The director of Maintenance has refused to even slightly think of the possibly of installing cameras because they don't want to be liable for anything. We have to wait weeks for things to get repaired because they will not give the superintendent the authority to purchase parts without their permission. The elevator was out of commission for well over 2 months without a word from management and living with someone who is elderly this is unacceptable. The rent is now being increased because we voiced our opinions on these matters and they ignore our phone calls + emails now. Anytime we call or email, the reception just says "My supervisor is not available can I leave a message? Everyone is in a meeting right now only the receptionists are here right now" or emailing them they will tell you they are "sending" the email to their supervisor now, however, you will NEVER get a response back.
This company is filled with a bunch of sleazy money hungry people and it...
Read moreI am a small business owner that made the mistake of renting from JP Management. I am writing this review in hopes of saving other small business owners from working with this unprofessional company.
They do not care about keeping the lines of communication open. Emails, phone calls, and text messages will go un-answered. It is impossible to get in touch with anyone especially when you have an emergency situation.
I had a ceiling leak for 2 months. The leak started out as a drip. It progressed into a full stream of continuous water. Ceiling tiles fell while clients were in the space. The water was brown and seemed to be coming from an apartment above my retail space. I had to close numerous time because of this issue causing loss of revenue. After 2 months of my calls being ignored, I finally called the health department. I was never reimbursed for any losses my business endured. I also have the property manager on camera talking to the plumber about "yeah she went and called the health department on us".
I paid rent throughout every issue I encounter during my lease term. When the corona virus hit we were forced to shut down as many businesses had. JP Management never reached out with any alternative payment plans or aid. I continued to pay rent during the shut down. For me this was from March to June. I was late 1x and was charged a late fee.
There are other issues I encountered along the way, that I just don't have the space to discuss. I do not recommend renting from this management company.
The 1 star given was...
