I somehow found out about this venue via Instagram and decided to check it out because the band looked like they might be good and yes they were! I saw ByWater Call on a Thursday night in May. I bought a ticket online the day before the show through Eventbrite. I arrived a little bit before the doors opened so I walked to a nearby pub to grab a bite to eat and then came back about 15 minutes before the band came on and grabbed a seat. The set up reminded me a bit of Ram’s Head On-Stage in Annapolis with the table seating however it’s not reserved seats, it’s first come, first choice. There really is not a bad spot in the place so even if you come later like I did you will be fine. I’m sure they do shows that are standing room only and even then you’ll have a good view of the stage. The sound was better than I was expecting for a small space. The band sounded great!! The gentleman manning the door and scanning tickets was friendly. There was a bar but I am not sure what they had. I did see some snack foods available. And they had a water container on the other side of the room which I thought was great because a lot of places don’t do that then you have to wait in line at the bar for a water. The ticket price was comparable to other small venues that I have been to recently. I heard they are adding another room with expanded capacity so I’m looking forward to seeing what artists they bring in. This is only an hour drive for me so I know I will be back!

Music lovers in Central Maryland are celebrating the arrival of this fabulous venue, which resides in the same building as the Hub City Vinyl record store. The schedule features everything from blues to bluegrass and rock to reggae. Ticket prices are fair and fee-free if you buy them direct. Secure off-street parking is free and easy. The current space is a gorgeous, acoustically-balanced room with excellent lighting and unobstructed views throughout. This room holds up to 240 ppl standing or 120-150 when tables and seats are in place. I've attended shows with multiple configurations. There's always something for both sitters and dancers. A new, larger room is under development and is designed for at least 2x the current space (estimated 700 ppl standing). They are building out this adjacent space with the same care and investment that makes the first room so outstanding. Hopefully, the bigger space will open later in 2025. Oh, and did I mention what a great and helpful staff they have here? Service is fast and friendly ... and they don't hesitate to deal with troublesome patrons. That said, the crowd has always been grateful and kind because we all feel lucky to have this place in Washington County. Make it a point to come see a show here if you have not already. Live at Hub City Vinyl is a wonderful night out in downtown Hagerstown.

Gem in downtown Hagerstown.. I highly recommend checking out an event here. I have been twice so far. They get some really talented bands in the place. It is an intimate setting. The crowds aren't too big, but it's a great vibe. The last show was last Friday with Ten Ton Mojo from NY and Parker Barrel from TN. The bands started at 8 and ended at 10:30 with a ticket price of 20 dollars. Can't beat it with talented musicians who are usually from out of town. Seriously, check this place out and support a local place, making Hagerstown a place to be again.
