Been going here since childhood, until we moved away. The first thing I would always do upon return to the town, would be to go here. Each and every time- the peaceful, happy breeze would carry the familiar smell of the place to my nose. I would close my eyes and tear up from from the memories that would come rushing back. The place never changes. In the evening, the bandshell would be filled and the sounds of music would wain and swell through the spacious park. The lamps which line the walkway, deep within the park look lead one's eye up, up , up, towards the early 1900 houses on the street. one could easily believe that they've been transformed and transported back to the early turn of the century. I could hear the sound of horse drawn carriages clopping through the park and the streets. The ambiance in the evenings are unparalleled. And can only be experience and not described. I I feel privileged to have been able to take my own children to see this wonder of a park. There are very few, if any, places like this in the country. It fuels the imagination of children and adults alike. I just wish they would get the spitting frogs repaired to their...

This is such a beautiful park with something different and interesting to see around each corner or area including a large lake and streams with quaint bridges, beautiful rocks and a little area surrounded by roses to dip into like you're in a little secret garden, museums (yes plural), playgrounds for the children, picnic areas with grills, a snack shop, an outdoor stage with seating to enjoy small concerts and watch the movies in the park, ball fields, a tennis court and a train museum at the back of the park. The only negative and issue that I'm really sad about is that they've removed the beautiful, historic stone wall that lined the front of the park and they added a modern piece of artwork by the lake which does not go with the style of the park at all. I'm sure there are things I'm missing regarding all of the positives, so make sure to visit yourself!

of.the positives however, , so take my advice and visit and enjoy this park...

I love this park it is a beautiful place. However i wish the city took better care of it. They need to clean the water periodically. Which really wouldnt be such a big deal as it is fairly shallow. They should get a couple employees to put on some waders and give them some nets to scoop out the debri in the water. After a few weeks of doing this I believe the water would look much better. The other issue is they should move some of the carp fish to other locations in the county as there are way to many in the lake. The water fowl are a little over populated as well but not sure what can be done about that. So come on park director step it up and take better care of the little gem that the city is lucky to have. Take pride in...

Large pond, several playgrounds, ducks to watch, and feed and even large carp. There is duck and fish food sold at the concession building along with snacks and drinks. Several pavilions and picnic areas, a large stage for concerts, plays, etc. There is an Art museum as well as the Hager House beside the large pond. Several parking lost at each end of the park and street parking along the length. Very great location with beautiful scenery for photos of many different kinds including great opportunities for nature photographs also. As of Jan 2023 the park asks patrons to vacate at dark. Park is clean for the most part and park staff are ever present.

Visited Hagerstown City Park on Easter evening, and it was the perfect place to pause and take in the beauty. The sunset painted the sky with soft pastel colors over the lake, creating a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. The view of the Museum of Fine Arts and the surrounding nature brought a sense of calm and connection to history. It felt like the world slowed down for a moment, and I was reminded how important it is to take time for quiet reflection. If you’re looking for a spot to clear your mind and appreciate simple beauty, this park is something special.

Wonderful park! While visiting my daughter and 1 year old grandson who live close to the park, we decided to take a walk. The sidewalk boarders a beautiful man made body of water with benches and wooden bridges and pavilions and gazebos. The park and water is inhabited by squirrels, many different colored ducks, geese and 2 beautiful swans along with a variety of fish. There were also 2 large playgrounds for the kids to play on with a few mother child swings. We will definitely be walking the park and spending more time there this summer when I visit.
