I brought my laptop in with a slightly damage case, which caused the charging port to wiggle. Still worked fine, and was more of an annoyance than anything. I took my laptop into Shattered Dreams on 3/16/2024. I was initially told that it needed to be soldered and needed to be ship to a company they used to handle that and that it would take 7-10 days to get it back. I was fine with that and left my contact information for when it was ready. I received a call later that day saying that was not the issue after all and that the computer needed a new palmrest. Dallas explained what needed to be done and said he would order the parts and I should get my computer back around the following Thursday. Fast forward to today, 4/2/2023, much later than expected on getting my computer because parts were taking longer than expected. I received a call from Dallas yesterday informing me that the parts came in but he was not happy with the way it turned out. He wanted till today to have it ready, as the keyboard was not fitting back into the computer correctly. He called me earlier to let me know it was ready, but he had broken the keyboard and was ordering a new one but wanted me to have it back in the meantime. I went about 4 pm to pick it up. As I was paying I noticed a trim piece on the back that was not previously broken was obviously broken and glued back together. I opened the laptop and noticed glue around the mousepad of the laptop. I instantly brought it to their attention. They took my laptop back and cleaned it up a bit and brought it back out to me. I knew something was not right and went to my truck to test it. Luckily, I had brought the charger with me and my truck has a standard power outlet. I plugged the laptop and noticed for starters that the keyboard was no longer backlit. As the computer started up, I noticed the mousepad no longer functioned as well. I had yet to leave the parking lot. I returned inside the store. They knew what they gave me was not quality work as they not only offered, and granted, gave, me a refund of the repair but offered me $80 on top of it. This was a nearly $1200 MSI gaming laptop, per the price listed on Amazon right this moment. This was not going to fly with me. I asked about liability insurance. Dallas informed me that he was "self-insured" and does not carry standard liability insurance. I informed him I would see him in court then as he has destroyed my property, and he knows it. I tried calling and having a conversation with him once home to see if cooler heads could prevail and he told me the computer is more than he can handle and offered $50. He then hung up on me as I informed him my next route was to tell my story on his Google reviews. Update: This owner is an unprofessional, and in over his head. If you took your car into the shop to have an engine worked on, and the shop messes up the transmission, they don't get to tell the car owner "Sorry, sucks to be you!". They have to get the car back into proper working order. I don't know why this nitwit thinks this is any different. Read other reviews where he has destroyed other property and just sent them out the door. Not anymore, Dallas Love. You are a crook and I will expose it...
Read moreCheck out this statement from the business: We apologize for the precieved poor performance. This is one that should have never been touched as the MSI parts are rare, difficult to replace, and take loads of man hours, especially when the laptop was "still working fine." A refund of the full amount was issued. Hope you find a better solution elsewhere. 🙏
This was the company’s response to my spouse’s review after they broke our computer. Let’s deconstruct this. “Perceived poor performance”: I would love to know how you developed the audacity to call it “perceived” when it was objectively not only poor, but shockingly incompetent. Next, “this is one that should have never been touched blah blah blah.” This is your business, if you aren’t qualified to repair it or if it isn’t worth it to you then it is your responsibility to say so, you don’t get to take the thing, break it, and then blame the customer who hired you to do a repair you said you were competent and willing to do. On to the bit about how the laptop was still working fine, and yes I’m picking up on your sarcasm here with the quotation marks. The computer did work, it was difficult to keep the cord plugged in. This is my daily use computer, the mousepad worked and the keyboard was functional with working lights and all keys attached. It also didn’t have random cracks glued back together on the case. However, it did need a repair and you don’t get to botch it and then act like we are liars or bizarre computer hypochondriacs who are imagining problems. Finally, “a refund of the full amount was issued.” That doesn’t come close to compensating for the damage you’ve done, and that’s not because we are feeling disgruntled. Are we disgruntled about your lack of foresight, professionalism, and basic self awareness? Of course. Are we appalled that you are so irresponsible that you are taking expensive electronics from folks when you don’t even have insurance? Absolutely. But it’s simple arithmetic that you don’t destroy a $1200 computer and offer folks $80 as compensation. You’re $1120 off on this this basic subtraction problem, and unless you’ve broken all your own phones and computers you can double check my math with your built in calculator. Your expectation that anyone would perceive YOU as the victim here because you refunded the repair price after destroying the whole machine is laughable. It would be hilarious if it weren’t my $1200 computer you mangled.
Edited to add: please see the photo. One month ago in response to a review about a phone broken by this company, the business claimed that “we will actually replace the device in full if we return it in a worse condition than when it was brought in.” Note: we were offered $80. Be very wary, the fact that they don’t have insurance indicates that they’re at best delusional about their abilities and the nature of their occupation, and this review response which is obviously not at all true (or at best, it is a “policy” that is not applied equitably) indicates some serious ethical issues happening with...

Taylor worked her magic and fixed my phone like it was a cake walk and I cant express how grateful I am for all of them! Much love for you guys🫶 and I hope you all nothing but the best🤙
My galaxy s22+ screen "locked" me out of my phone completely. I had no access to anything on my phone whatsoever other than answering incoming calls, and I mean nothing, zip, nada. I proceeded to go my service provider (us cellular) in hopes of it being a simple fix but with it being a "screen issue" they sent me to get it resolved at (u break I fix) since I still have device protection coverage that's their "go to" for Samsung devices okay great. Long story short, I was told, "The only way to fix the phone was to perform a factory reset" AND it would be $85 to do so... At that moment I wasn't sure of what data was backed up and what wasn't and explained that I didn't want to lose pictures, contacts etc and taking the chance of not being able to get them back, I was then told that there was no guarantee I wouldn't lose them, and there wasn't much they could do for me. I'm so glad I went with my gut and got a second opinion. I went to shattered dreams and was welcomed with puppy loves and positive energy soon as I walked in the door, I explained what was going on and I could feel their determination not only to fix my phone but to turn my day around completely, it was all hands on deck but I've gotta give Taylor props she was able to get all of my data, pictures, contacts, msgs I mean EVERYTHING backed up on my phone before they had to reset it these guys know what they're doing and weren't going to charge me for their services I'm telling yall don't waste your time and hard earned money on these so called "big wigs" support your local businesses they're the "real deal" down to earth,...
