Knox Farmers Co-Op Halls — Local services in Halls Crossroads

We go here when no where else has what we need. I'd like to love this place more, but they aren't very helpful, slow as Christmas and depending on who you get, aren't friendly. I called them and got out immediately on hold, stayed on hold for 5+ minutes, hung up and called back and same person answered first ring. (they had forgot I was on hold...no big deal, it happens). Then they put me on hold for 10 mins to find out if they had what I was calling for. Finally told me they had 7 bags of it. Got there about 10 mins later, waited in line for 5 mins, asked for my items, the girl went out back to "see if they had any" and 7 mins later came back and said they didn't have any. She said apparently their computer was wrong when I had been told they had some. I just lost 45 mins of my day. Again, I'd like to like it more, but...

I work with a company that puts on a free trunk or treat event for the kids in the community. After shopping with the Halls Co-Op personally for two years, I stopped and asked the owner if he would be willing to donate just two bales of straw for the scarecrow set-up and he said nope!!! I've grown up on a farm since I baby and I always try to support the local Co-Op but I will no longer be shopping here!!!! I have also moved my parents business from here. You can't tell me that it would have been very much out of pocket for him to donate two bales of straw for children in his own community. Co ops across Tenn. Were originally designed to assist and help the local farmer by keeping prices down to what is below average retailers, however it seems the management at the halls CoOp has long forgotten this and is assisting only in driving the local farmers out of business by over pricing. I recently inquired to the manager why his diesel prices were above the prices on the street. He responded by saying " deisel is up everywhere , and will be higher by end of week.
