I was trying to purchase squash and they all happened to be damaged. I asked the lady at the register if she would be willing to discount them because all of the ones they had on the floor were damaged. She called Eric on the walkie talkie, he said "yes, discount them if they are damaged and there are none left". So, she wasn't able to discount them bc there were more but again, they were all damaged. I asked Eric to "Reconsider marking them down." He said "no because they must have all come damaged and that is how we have to sell." I said "you shouldn't be selling damaged food for full price, they're supposed to be marked down." He then tried to end the conversation by saying, "That's how they come and we just won't sell them to you if you don't want to pay full price."
Firstly, I work in customer service and you don't sell food or any product for that matter that is damaged for FULL PRICE.
Secondly, I volunteer at nonprofit food shelters and they wouldn't dare donate food to someone that is DAMAGED!
Thirdly, customer service Eric.... You are in the business of customer service and I wouldn't come back if I had to deal with a attitude and thought process such as what you demonstrated today.

General Management needs to analyze and make changes to customer service upon reviewing...
Read moreWent for just a few general items hotdogs, corn chips, and buns I was able to finally find the 1 brand of hotdog buns, which is fine, could never find just regular all beef hotdogs so ended up with cheddar brats, just thought it strange that I couldn't find normal 8 pack hotdogs so got 6 cheddar brats to substitute. Anyways I like Aldi's but if your not a frequent customer then you need to know be ready to substitute your go to brand to something they have they don't usually carry many name brand items, there brand is good so I don't really mind this, a cart is 25 cents you get back once you return it, bring your own shopping bag or you WILL end up buying bags as well. They have some cool non grocery stuff usually like candles, decor, maybe sheets, dog clothes, sometime house shoes, massagers etc. You never know which items you might find, I bought a blow dryer as a gift for an aunt of mine and it still works and does a nice job that was another random find. If you are picky and only want certain things and have a full list and you don't wanna have to substitute then you need to go somewhere else. If your open minded and can switch brands and are good at substituting certain items then Aldi's great and the prices are low. My trip tonight was less then 10 dollars. Oh an yes they usually have pretty...
