Marshalls — Local services in Hamden

I usually love going to this Marshalls. I always find great deals and the employees are extremely nice. However, today my cashier (didn’t catch his name) went out of his way to make me feel terrible about not wanting to apply for the TJX rewards card. Not sure if he was just having a bad day or something, but he prompted me twice to apply and both times I replied that I was all set. After the second time, he made a very snarky comment about me cutting him off and then proceeded to roll his eyes and rush me out of there. Even though I knew I had done nothing wrong, I apologized and he was still very short and rude. I am a chain restaurant server so I understand having to meet quotas and upselling and all that jazz. I realize that it affects many aspects of your job like pay, hours, opportunities, etc. Nevertheless the last thing I would want to do is make one of my customers feel like crap because they didn’t want to spend extra money or apply for our VIP club. I had forgotten what this place was like. Filled to the rafters with clothing, shoes, personal care items and knicknacks. I quickly realized that it's also one of the best sources for home goods. Searched everywhere for good quality bed pillows and found several from $40 -$80 a piece. Here I found excellent quality from $16.99- $24.99 for a pair! I grabbed two packs (4 pillows) for under $35.00. Best pillows I've slept on in a long time. No fancy memory foam or cool gel. Just soft polyester fill with a high loft which bounces back nicely. I know this sounds petty but I bought a candle at TJ max, went to this Marshall’s and found a similar candle that I liked better. Asked the associate if I could return the one I bought from their affiliate store and buy the one I liked better and got told “if the TJ max wasn’t close by then yes I could return it but since it’s down the street, I can’t” WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES THAT MAKE?
