Around mid September, I placed a 32" Sony TV on Layaway. At the time, since I didn't bring my purse in with me to the store, the layaway got placed in my fiance's name. He and I live at the same address. However, I would be the one mainly having the time to come in and make the payments, so I asked would I encounter any trouble if I was the one making payments and coming to get the TV upon final payment and not him. They said it would be fine.
Fast forward to yesterday. Since I was closer to there from my job than I was from the house, I decided to go straight to Walmart, rather than drive to my house to get the receipt to drive back out. Plus, since they told me it would be fine, I didn't get too worried.
When I get there, there was five people ahead of me. There was only one person back there and he only knew how to do Site To Store. He didn't know how to do layaway, but I didn't know that until after I had waited 30 minutes for service. I got back in line. Another female came up who knew how to do layaway. He asked her to help him with the line. She acted like she didn't want to be bothered because she started to walk away but then she stayed to help. I had to wait another 10 minutes because she had to help the other guy find someone else's Site to Store Products.
So I get to the counter. She asked to see my license. She says she doesn't see my name in there; I let her know that it's under my fiance's name and I verify the address. She proceeds to tell me I can't get the layaway. I told her I could understand if the addresses are different but they are the same. Then, she calls the supervisor and then the supervisor says I can't get it. That's when I started to lose my patience and I requested that the supervisor come to layaway. The supervisor overheard on the walkie talkie and then started asking how much was left on the layaway; I guess since the supervisor didn't feel like coming to layaway, she told the lady to let me get the layaway.
I make the payment and then wait. Ten minutes go by; they come out and asked me what type of TV it is. I tell them it's a Sony 32". Then, they ask me if I was sure. I said I was sure. Then, they ask me if I was sure it wasn't an Emerson. Then, I show them the receipt they printed out that said Sony 32". As the lady and the helper went to the back, I heard one whisper that they thought they may have give the 32" Sony to another person when they should have given the Emerson because the Sony wasn't back there. Finally, they decided to get someone from electronics to grab me another TV because they couldn't find the one back in the layaway section.
I've had layaways at Wal-Mart before. Not this particular one, but at others. This is the WORST Wal-Mart experience I have ever had! I will never have a layaway at this particular location again. One hour just to get a TV! So disorganized and not customer...
Read moreAbsolutely RIDICULOUS interaction I just had at your store and I WILL be following up with corporate to file a complaint because the way I was RAN DOWN ON and SCREAMED AT and then treated like I stole from the store is ridiculous. I was JUST there and purchased nearly $200 in items, including a cooking ware set. I had my receipt checked by a nice guy and left and went about my day. I came home, my husband said that cooking ware set sucks and it burns and to return it. I immediately return and enter the store with my reciept and then I realized, I haven’t had to return something in awhile, do I need my ID or credit card I purchased this with? Let me go real quick to the car and get it. I was already seen entering the store with the receipt in hand with the item and going to the returns section but for whatever reason this AGGRESSIVE man at 9:30ish pm who was relieving the nice guy who previously checked my reciept comes SCREAMING and RUNNING down on me like he’s the police. I said Sir, I already went thru this and bought this about 20 mins ago, I have the receipt, I entered the store with the item and went to the return section already and just needed something out of my car. He didn’t believe me and kept looking at the receipt and looking at me and I said YEAH there are other items on it, I WAS JUST HERE!! 8’ returning this, I forgot my purse! He’s still not believing me really and I said oh my god I didn’t steal it, this is ridiculous. I’m a 43 year old woman so it’s not like I’m some little kid. He very nastily pushed the receipt back to me, didnt even say hey sorry or my mistake I didn’t mean to chase you down and scream at you, I understand it was a misunderstanding. He just doubled down with his arrogant attitude and gave me this death stare as I left. Then I walk back in and he’s still staring me down as I return it and I’m sorry, there is no reason for a store employee to use that much energy and straight ignorance over something when I didn’t even do anything wrong and had the receipts and you could have even ran the cameras or even the self check out cameras and seen I just purchased the item. I will NEVER go in that store again because I’m literally shaking after being approached and screamed at like that and also stared at by everyone in the store because he was treating me like a shoplifter. Absolutely disgusting and he had a horrible attitude every time I go there anyway, ZERO people skills. It’s a shame cuz I worked at Walmart for. Few years when I was younger and they never would allow us to act like that infact we always had to smile and treat customers like we were happy they were there to shop, not...
