I would like to share my experience last night, 8/31/25 at 8:30pm. This was my first time dining at Cracker Barrel. My family of 5ppl was told at 30 min wait and was seated 45 mins later, the dining room was completely empty with available tables. After I was sat I rushed to place my kids order in first. My server, Xavier came back to take my order a few minutes later, we originally wanted the weekend special of the honey fried chicken and the southern fried chicken, Xavier had informed us that the kitchen was out of those menu items. We ended up ordering the fried catfish w/ okra, braised beef stew, and the Louisiana shrimp skillet w/ okra dishes. My kids meal came out shortly after we ordered. After my kids were done with their meals Xavier comes to tell us the rest of our three meals “are almost done and will be out shortly”. 10 mins after that he comes to inform us that “I got the order for the shrimp and the stew, what was the third order again? The order was cut off” he was not direct and we went back and forth about what he was trying to tell us at the ended of the convo I had to ask him if my order for the catfish was ever put in and it was not. He takes the catfish order again and comes back to tell me that the kitchen was out of the catfish. So I kindly asked him to bring out the other two and there was no need to order my dish 45 mins later. Not even 5 minutes later Jeff (tall, skinny and bald) the manager comes to the table to ask what else they can bring out because the beef stew was also out. At this point we are had no food for over an hour and the grilled shrimp hasn’t even hit the table. Shortly after Jeff left the grilled shrimp had arrived with a side of apples, when we had originally asked for fried okra. We discovered again the kitchen was out of okra an house later. I pulled Jeff aside to have a conversation away from my family and kids, he was apologetic and comp the bill but had no empathy and compassion for the poor service we had experienced. The server and manager on duty had lack of communication and professionalism, the server tried to cover himself and beat around a bush when he could have been honest that out order was never put in. As the manager, he should have taken the dishes off the menu or at least communicated that additional dishes were sold out. My family and I went back and forth with both the manager and server of promised foods and ended up not getting served, as well as get a refill on our beverages. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I truly hope this poor service will be addressed and reviewed with the...

I ASKED IF EVERYTHING WAS IN 1 BAG...YES.......that was a lie!!
Ordered 4 meals & 4 strawberry shortcakes
Was given 1 meal & 4 strawberry shortcake WITHOUT the ice cream!!
Employee stated, they do not give ice cream with the strawberry shortcakes to go, because of the time it takes to pick up. However, if pick up directions and everything was correct then it wouldn't melt. OH, but the whip cream was MELTED!!
Heck, they charged for ice cream on that shortcake.....
30 minutes later after pick up time...waiting, because employees did NOT DO THEIR JOB CORRECTLY!!!!
Was able to do this review while waiting.......
ANOTHER REVIEW: Pick up time 7:15 Missing 3 MEALS MISSING ICE CREAM for strawberry shortcake, but given whip cream Missing utensils & condiments
Asked if everything was included before walking out, employee said yes.....
DROVE off, hmm something don't seem right...looked 3 main meals missing...Missing....
Drove back.....DIESEL PRICES ARE OVER $5....!!!
DROVE back...told & showed employee.
Oh, manager said cracker barrel does NOT include ice cream on to go orders. I said that's not True, TEXAS DOES!!
Manager also stated, because it will melt.... BS, IF I'M THERE AT THE TIME told, if desert with ice cream is done last, and NOT put in same bag as hot food, then it's GOOD TO GO!! Oh, but my whip cream was melted!! By the time they finished my order!!
MANAGER needs to keep her employees in check, make sure customers are getting WHAT they pay for or GIVE OUT A GAS CARD FOR THEIR MISTAKES & give what they messed up free. Something needs to be done to make up for customer's time, money, frustration, etc. Well, maybe DM needs to visit this store and supervise the manager
They finished at 7:46 and manager acted like NOTHING HAPPENED!! *Lied to *Drove back to store (diesel) *30 minutes extra on pick up time (waiting) *Still didn't get condiments correct *Irritated with manager's comments, ice cream would melt.........BUT given melted whip cream
The manager should of given a refund or found away to make it right, since they messed up.
*Attached is a picture of both receipts, however one receipt was on one (the first bag) I picked up. NOTICE, Nothing is checked....maybe if they checked off everything as they put it in the bag...this could have been PREVENTED!!
*The 2nd receipt was with the 2nd bag. I thought the would learn their lesson and mark off items. NOPE. It actually looks like they kept the original receipt and acted like...
Read moreWorst experience ever at this store. My mother chose Cracker Barrel for Mother’s Day because she loves their chicken pot pie. Upon arrival I checked in for a party of 11 and was told it would be about an 1 hr wait. Not everyone was there yet but they still checked me in and I got the confirmation text. They did ask me to check back in when they were all there which I did about 5 minutes later but it was a different host.
So, walked around in the store a bit and bought some items for Mother’s Day and everyone went outside to sit down and relax while we waited.
Fast forward to about an hour later and didn’t hear anything yet so, I check in with the host with which I mentioned that our whole party was there. He looked a little confused and disappeared to check on the situation I guess. When he returned he was with another young lady who informed us that they didn’t have a table for us and if we wanted to be seated we would be scattered all over the restaurant at different tables.
At this point I asked for a manger to see if we could do something to rectify this situation. When the manager finally came out after a wait basically told that there was nothing they could do and gave us no real options and no real empathy for the situation.
Realizing that we were not going to be served, I decided to cut our loses and try to find a different restaurant to eat at. My mother wanted to try and see if she could do any better and came back into the store an was actually able to talk to the person who originally checked me in who was supposedly a “manager” and, he immediately tried to shift blame and gaslight me and say I didn’t check back in.m when I actually did. His response was well, the other host didn’t tell me you did.
When my mother asked well, what can you do for us? He didn’t give any real response on how long it would be to wait only that he would have to “check”, the only compensation he was willing to offer was a cinnamon roll, lol. By then it was an hour and a half later and her low sugar warning alarm went off so we had to get something to eat quickly.
Needless to say we left, and had dinner down the road at Chili’s where we seated in less 20 minutes and had a great time. They even comped my mother’s meal when they brought out the wrong order.
Cracker Barrel should take a lesson in customer service from Chili’s because this location is definitely lacking in any of those skills. It will make me rethink before heading to this...
