This is my first review on anything ever, but my experience was so bad that I felt I had to leave one. I ordered a couch in mid-May and was told it would take about 6 weeks to deliver. 16 weeks later and still no couch! I understand it is not the store’s fault that the delivery was held up, and that it falls into the manufacturer’s hands, but SJB handled the situation very poorly. After about 8 weeks without hearing from the store, I called for an update. I received this response that day and the same response every time I called thereafter, “We don’t have an update on your couch, but I will have the manager call you back and give you more details.” Not once did we ever receive a call back from the manager. I was strung along for months by the store so I finally decided to call to unfortunately cancel my order and receive a full refund. When I called to cancel, the manager at SJB told me my order had already been canceled! Not sure how that happened, but I’m glad it did. Read moreI wish there were a way to give zero stars. On 2/24 we ordered a Bassett sectional from Shauna at SJB. We paid in full, over $5700, using our credit card and were told our order would be delivered in 6-8 weeks. On 5/25, after contacting them several times and being told they had no idea where in the process our order was, we contacted Bassett directly and were told 1) our order was not even placed until 3/30 and 2) our order was not even in production yet. We were assured by Shauna at that time that if we did not cancel the order with them that we would have it in June. On 6/28, my husband went to the store and was told, again by Shauna, that they did not have the order but they could surely have it in July. Also, that they are moving, which was evident by the appearance of the showroom, but couldn’t give out a forwarding address yet. Read moreLet me first say that SJB has beautiful furniture but lacks customer service hence the one star rating. I ordered furniture on December 26, 2021 and I understood at the time there was a supply chain issue. The thing that bothered me the most is that no one contacted me as a courtesy to let me know the status of my order at any time. I eventually went in the store after 6 months to be told the order was on a truck or barg heading to Chicago then it would be here. A month went by still no contact until I left a message for a refund. I received a call the next day August 11, 2022 advising me my furniture was in and I would get a call the next day. I just received the call today August 25, 2022 to set up delivery for furniture I ordered. And still there was no empathy for the long wait, no thanks for my patience nothing of the sort.
