There is something unsettling about this store. It's a grocery store, and yet at the same time it feels as though I am not wanted there. For example, beginning at 6:30 pm they seal one of only two entrances shut with an anti-theft, gated door. The store doesn't close until 10, but they seal the door shut anyway at 6:30. I have seen them shut it as early as 5:00 before. In addition to this they post an armed guard near the entrance, and they have him staring at cameras that are watching everything I do and everywhere I go. If that's not enough, they force me to use a shopping cart fitted with locking wheels that seize should the anti-theft sensors located near the entrances detect anything (they sometimes will seize even when nothing is detected). And like Walmart and Target they also usually only have a handful of registers open. At least Target and Walmart don't treat me as a potential criminal though. It's like the store is forced to acknowledge it needs my business, but at the same time it would really rather not have me shop there. It's the little things too. Like, for instance, they have not changed their website to reflect their actual real business hours (they close at 10 pm rather than 11 pm as their website erroneously reports). It would seem that if you really wanted customers to know when you're open, then you would at the very least make sure they know when you are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI left this store in tears. I made a pickup order through Instacart, this was the closest store to my house that wasnāt only for delivery. My order was ready so I headed to this Kroger on S Erie and pulled up checked in and said I was there on the app. And associate came outside after 10 minutes of waiting. She said did you make an order through Instacart, I said yes I did. She said well I donāt have your order I canāt find it. Proceeded to act frazzled and said these new machines are confusing etc. She told me to call Instacart customer service. I called them and they said the order was there that I had 2 bags in the fridge and 7 on the shelf. THEN I go inside to go to customer service ⦠I guess it was a few minutes after 8 at this time, (25 minutes after I initially got there) walk up to Customer service . This shorter women with shorter hair probably mid 60s was working. And I told her what was going on AFTER she told me they were closed (she did not want to be bothered) and she said we donāt deal with that. I said you donāt deal with customers that have a problem ? She said āNopeā. This Kroger is a complete joke. I needed those few things for dinner . Had to pull my 2 children out of the car and myself who is every bit of 8 months pregnant to go inside for them to tell me that customer service doesnāt deal with customers problems. I will NEVER...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDon't like the Kroger on Grand Avenue. I got mugged here a long time ago. Not the best surroundings. A bit hard to find disabled parking. The new grocery carts are already starting to have problems with "wobbly wheels". We had to go back three times to find a cart that had better wheels. My friend needed a disability scooter and none were charged. Store a bit dirty and somewhat neglected. Produce in bad shape and not fresh. Usually go to the Kroger on Main Street, but this was closer to where we were. I bought a lottery ticket and it was very quick to get customer service she was friendly. One complaint is that we went to a lighted isle to check out with cashier. The cashier was just finishing up with a customer. It was just two of us and we barely had anything in are carts. She wasn't closing her isle and she saw us and slammed down the customer in front of us bananas on the checkout by the cash register which was very rude so we went to the cashier a few isles down. I sure hope that customer didn't buy those bananas. Very unpleasant and...
