I recently had an unfortunate experience at Sonic Drive-In that left me questioning whether online ordering is worth the hassle. I arrived to find a few cars on site, which led me to believe I could enjoy a swift pick-up. However, I ended up waiting an infuriating 37 minutes for my food, primarily due to one of my ordered items being out of stock for the night—something I wish I had been informed about when placing my order.
When my food finally arrived, it was now all cold, and my shakes were melted beyond recognition. I had hoped that the convenience of online ordering would spare me from the long wait typically associated with fast food, but I couldn’t have been more mistaken. To add to my disappointment, the staff member responsible for my order conveniently forgot the second part of my meal. It took me going to the counter to inquire about an it, only to discover she had completely overlooked it.
I understand that fast food can be hectic, but after spending nearly $40 on my meal, it was disheartening to see so much food go to waste due to poor handling and timing. In a customer-focused environment, I would have expected at least some acknowledgment of the inconvenience, but instead, I was offered two coupons for 99-cent sodas—hardly a suitable compensation for the trouble I experienced.
Overall, I cannot recommend this Sonic location based on my experience. The staff appeared more interested in chatting among themselves rather than efficiently serving customers. If you're looking for a quick meal, this place may not be the best choice. It's a shame, as I had higher hopes for a brand known for its fun and unique offerings. Read moreI have never been to a Sonic this bad. Almost no cars here and it took nearly 10 minutes and 3 pushes of the button to get someone to answer. All she said was "What can I get you?" I have been to Sonics all over the south and have ALWAYS been greeted! We ordered 2 drinks. I caught that one was wrong, but she had already turned off the speaker. I pushed the button and never got a response. The drink came out after over 10 minutes - FOR 2 DRINKS! I finally was able to tell someone my order was wrong. She took my money and then left the car. She didn't come to the car with change???? We finally got our correct drinks but the whole process took nearly 25 minutes. Not to mention on our previous trip here (after a horribly long wait after pushing the button) THEY FORGOT OUR ORDER! We called back 2 times and they kept telling us it would be right out. Eventually they admitted that they had issues inside and that's why we didn't get our food. Horrible customer service! Sonic used to be our favorite spot to go grab a quick drink on a warm day. We pulled up to a speaker ordered our food and drinks (2 BLT meals 1 with NO lettuce), we get our food and both BLT have lettuce, so we stopped the lady who brought it out and told her both of the BLT have lettuce on them and one is not suppose to have it. So she says ok I'll take care of it. So she comes back out with another BLT and guess what?? It HAS lettuce on it again. So I took both of the messed up BLT sandwiches up to the door. She (the same lady) came to the door and asked if she could help me. I said Yes Ma'am both of these sandwiches have lettuce on them and I ordered no lettuce as I hand her the bag. She takes the bag, ROLLS her eyes, let's the door close and told the cook about my sandwiches. I stood their for a couple minutes. The cook then brings me out 2 BLT with NO lettuce.
