I found the customer service here to be questionable. Having worked in retail and customer service myself, I understand how important it is to be attentive and proactive with customers. When someone is at the register or service desk, thereâs a natural sense of urgency to approach them, ask how you can help, and make sure they get what they need. Yet, when I was at the register/service desk, there was no sense of urgency, no acknowledgment, and no effort to help me figure out what I needed. It felt like I was completely ignored. The customer service at this location is completely unacceptable. The girls working here show no interest in helping customersâthey carry on personal conversations as if no one is even in the store. It was one of the most weird and awkward experiences Iâve had in a long time. This place clearly needs new management, because the staffâs lack of attentiveness makes you never want to come here again. It shouldnât matter if one employee is assigned to a specific task and another is doing something elseâthis is still a team environment, and teamwork is essential. I stood at the register making direct eye contact with the staff, yet no one approached me. This level of inattentiveness and disregard for customers is completely unacceptable. This place clearly lacks training (AND HOME TRAINING) and proper management, because those little girls just donât care. If youâre going to run a business, basic customer service should not...
Read moreI've only shopped a couple of times. some of their prices can be pretty high depending on what you're looking at given that these are most likely second hand items. But I'm extremely dissatisfied with this Plato's Closet because this is the third time that I've brought clothes that are either never worn and like new or worn once or twice still practically new condition, and they only pick two to three items. And when I asked why they didn't pick more items they say that will they have an Overstock and stuff like that. Their prices are too high so of course they're going to have an Overstock and secondly if I'm bringing in new or fairly new items you would think that they would want them. And I will say that some of their items in there are in worse condition than some of the clothes especially the shoes that I brought in. I saw a comment about the Plato's Closet in Lancaster honestly I'm going to take a drive over there with the same items that they didn't take and see if they appreciate my contribution. Also there was barely anyone in the store but there was five women working and I was waiting for them to give me my offer for almost 5 minutes as they were standing there talking ignoring me in plain sight. No acknowledgement what so ever except for the one girl at the drop...
Read moreWriting as a seller (meaning this store buys on the spot and not on consignment). I took in 5 lg bags of current season female clothes (for ages 20s to 50s) all in excellent condition and some items were NWTs. I was offered less than $2 for only one item, a workout jacket. While the young girl was going through my clothes, I walked around the store looking at current merchandise (clothes, shoes, & pocketbooks). My items fit their floor rack styles, rated far better condition, in season, and were of better quality. I also noticed their prices were jacked up many times over on a similar jackets from what I was offered. It was a total waste of my time and I feel it depends on the age of the girl going through the items. Additionally, the clothing that doesn't sell from the floor still makes them money when they sell for recycling, for which they are also paid. It's a total win for them. After my visit, I talked to others who felt taken advantage of as well. I'd prefer not to give Plato's Closet even 1-star, so...
