I've been shopping at Big Lots for almost 15 years now and I've always gone there to purchase futons since i move frequently. My first Futon through them was in 2005, my second was in 2007 and i just bought a futon mattress at the Hampton store in 2018. Just the mattress because the futon I bought in 2007 was solid wood arm and it was very comfortable to sleep in without falling through the arms. They don't have it no more its sold elsewhere so i purchased the camel mattress and I sleep like a baby on it. I remember like yesterday going into the store in Gulfport, MS in 2007 and seeing the wooden arm futon and buying it right off the bat. So, i went into the "new" stores in Williamsburg and Hampton and it is great it seems alot of people are going there, but it seems they are trying to sway away from the lower income residents and appeal to middle class. I think it will work its just sad to see the company uppity its presence. And I never seen an associate who didn't care at any Big Lots I went to along the east coast...
   Read moreOrdered furniture to be delivered between 5 & 9pm. Because I work & it was offered on the website. At noon on the day it was to be delivered I was contacted by the driver & informed it wasn't convenient for him to deliver it then. I would have to have it earlier or rescheduled for the same time of day the next day. He offered to leave it in front of the house. It's supposed to rain. When I called the store I was basically told it's not their problem, it's corporate & there's no way to rectify the situation & not really their problem since the driver is a contractor. So I had to cancel the order. I was then contacted by corporate as to why I canceled. I was told they are the only drivers & I'm out of luck. Horrible experience. Will never shop...
   Read moreBought a couch last friday, came to pick up today and now they can't find it because a receipt was never put on it to show it was sold.... Have been at the store for at least 30 minutes now while the associate plays where's waldo to find it. Oh wait! They found one of the style i purchased but now he has to move 10-15 OTHER couches to get to the one they "found". I'm guessing he has to this all by himself which will take "another 15 to 20 minutes". But let me go assist another customer first before i start. So unorganized and of course the people here have a don't care attitude because they didn't "sell it" to me. Have wasted my entire truck rental time on them and will have to pay extra for returning ot late. Not...
