Foundation Tattoo — Local services in Hampton

My friend and I spent all Saturday morning trying to get into a shop to get some small tattoos. We stopped in Foundation when they opened and the girl up front said it would probably not be until later that afternoon. We went back to wait where we originally put our name down. Finally we decided to call Foundstion back to see if we could make appointments and she said she was just about to call us because an artist had gotten there who was doing walk-ins! We got there and waited about 45 minutes for him to finish up the walk-in ahead of us. The artist, Nathan came out and spoke to us about what we wanted. He was so sweet and welcoming which honestly is not something I’ve experienced in the past at shops. I wanted my grandma’s signature taken from a card she gave me before she passed and he took his time to make sure it looked exactly how I wanted. I felt like he was gentle and I was done within like 10-15 minutes? It was great and I’m obsessed. Just honestly everyone at this shop is so nice and it was not something I was used to. The shop is great, clean, cool atmosphere, and everyone is friendly. My main review is for Marz though.

I just moved to VA in July. I have a lot of work already and am very particular when picking out new artists. After a lot of online digging I came across this shop and then specifically the IG for Marz. Reached out for a consultation for what I was interested in then was in with a couple weeks.

Now, for my first piece with a new artist I actually look back and realize I took a huge risk. I was seeking a large rework of a piece I had done myself over a decade ago. Took the chance and Marz crushed it. I mean she exceeded all my expectations. Talked to me about the design and best approach for some of the cover up work. The end product exceeds what I had hoped for.

I have already gone back to her for a smaller piece. Again she absolutely exceeded all expectations. I will be getting more work done...

I went in to talk my dad through getting his first tattoo. Cory helped us, and he was super kind and super professional. Then, I decided I would get my own, so he drew it up for me. Then I changed my mind on the tattoo, and my husband and I got coordinated tattoos instead. (You guys. I asked ahead of time if he had other appointments or if he had time to help all three of us. I let him know we were happy to come back another time. Please always go into parlors with a good idea of what you want and do not waste people's time.)
