Your associate, Justice, saw me and my sister in law at a self check out kiosk, and in the midst of us paying for our items, Justice asked to check our bag, BEFORE we even paid for our goods. In our cart, Justice saw a gift bag, and in the gift bag were the remaining items we were in the process of purchasing. The items were in the gift bag because we had just checked to make sure all of the items would fit.
Your associate made the assumption that we intended to steal the items.
Why would she make that assumption?
She should have waited for us to complete our purchase before she made such a gross assumption, which is what I told her, to which she replied that she was “just doing her job”. This leads me to believe that her “job” is to “randomly” pick out customers, who haven’t yet paid for their goods and treat them as if they already stole.
I am absolutely offended!
My husband and I shop at this target regularly, and expect respect from your associates.
I spoke to her manager, Sandy, who assured me that this incident will be documented and that her associate will be written up. I will be following up with your HR department in a week to confirm that these actions were taken.

Got 2 different stories from associates on what the policy is. One says that I have to have tags on the clothes in order to return them and it has to be within ninety days and another throws a piece of paper on the counter to show me the return policy that they have to have visible tears and stitches or damaged clothing. They were worn clothing and damaged, and they were within the one year policy. They didn't even open up the bag to look at the clothes. Just went off of a receipt. Then the other associate, said, I had to return it online. So I called corporate, and they told me that you can't do an online return with an in store receipt. I'm no longer a fan of this store anymore. They just make up stuff as they go at this store. This is maybe the second time that i've ever used the Cat and Jack warranty. I can see where some people take advantage, but this was not the case. I understand if it was case by case basis on what they accept to be returned, but they didn't even bother to open up the bag to see that. I have never had a problem in the past. I didn't know that their policy changed but after speaking, with corporate it wasnt? Not sure, what's going on with them. But don't waste your time at this location. Corporate will be making contact with this store.
