Updated with receipt and photos With comprised hair from previous stylists, I went to see Alicia to help me (in my last attempt) to achieve an even blonde with a dark root. Nothing too crazy or specific, trusting her judgment and work- I let her do what was best for my hair. Prices were never discussed, she just explained she was not sure how far I would lift. I was completely okay with that as my concern was to get out of the orange stage and make my last attempt to get into the blonde shades. Well, she was very sweet and we finished about 4 hours later. I was pretty surprised when she spun me around and took the towel off my head to see solid gray in my hair. She said if I use the recommended product, and wash in 48 hrs it will take the gray out and I will be left with a "soft blonde". She gave a small trim, styled and walked to the front. I was completely shocked when she rang me up at almost $400. I used her services and products so I felt obligated to pay even though my look was far from the desired (non-specific) blonde I was so desperate to achieve... I went home and purchased the recommended product (another $60) and waited another day then had did my first wash (as I was desperate to lose the gray and see the blonde!) - To my surprise, I turned completely purple and saw so many more imperfections that were beyond obvious. As you can imagine, I reached out to her before making this rating and am sad to say that she lacks empathy and (twice) refused a full or even partial refund for her work on my hair. She was unable to fit me in at the only time available with my sitter for my twins, and refused to give me any money back to get it fixed elsewhere before we visit my husbands family on Saturday. Most importantly- she has not taken responsibility once for her work on my hair; She does not see how bad it is or how far it is from the desired look. I, for once, wanted to walk out of a salon with a beautiful confident look- WITHOUT having to walk around with unfinished, uneven, ruined hair for months- WITHOUT having to go back to get it fixed or plead for a refund... I for once wanted a happy experience and was burned once again. I spent almost $400 (not including tip or recommended products) for this look. And it has me in tears... Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeware! Southern Grace Salon and Boutique is unimaginably the worse salon I have ever encountered. They are full of lies and deception, especially the stylist Alicia. Alicia was my stylist and during my first appointment on May 18, I showed her a picture of a cut and color I was looking for. Instead, she gave me her professional opinion and suggested a different route for color, so I took it. Huge mistake! My highlights are bleached chunks. After coloring, she left while another stylist, Lynda was applying a heat treatment to my hair. Alicia never spoke with me or Lynda that she was leaving and left my haircut uneven. Thankfully Lynda did a great job on my keratin treatment and tried to fix the cut but didnāt even know the style I was going for. The cut was also much much shorter than I asked for. I specifically asked to have enough hair for a pony tail, that didnāt happen. After 2 weeks of waiting, I finally met with Alicia at the salon to correct the color. She lied to me about her electricity and the product from Fedex. As Iām in the chair, sheās yelling at me in front of her son and another woman who walked in. All while Iām in tears! She told me they have never given refunds since they have been open from 2001. Thatās a lie because the next day, after my husband and mother confronted her, she refunded us some of our money. We asked multiple times to speak with the owner but they gave us the run around. The only positive thing I can say about my experience was Lynda. This place is so awful and unprofessional. I would never suggest this place to anyone. And like the other reviews say, do not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend this owner at the salon to touch anyoneās hair. She is not very knowledgeable. I have done hair for 25 yrs and owned my own salon for many years in the past until I had to move. I decided to treat myself to a long over due pampering after having 2 babies and I left feeling like my hair looked ok. I spent $257 total with a small tip added to only walk out and have my husband ask what was wrong with my hair. Friends even commented and said it looks nothing like what I was wanting and that the cut was horribly uneven and choppy. After getting home and really looking at my hair I saw that it was a horrible highlight and toner job. It was a horrible hair cut and I have never cried so much over my hair before. I come from a long line of stylist, grew up going to the beauty college that my grandmother managed, pretty much raised in her salon and never have I been told some of the most off the wall ridiculous stuff that Alicia told me today after going back to see if she could fix it. After listening to her tell me that my hair was probably going through a growth spurt and that the lines are normal and that she heard me say I wanted a blunt cut and agreed with me on a cut yet she cut what she wanted too anyways, the fact that she tried to tell me that my hair would be a lot lighter or that she could put darker in and that the picture that I showed her has a filter, I decided to actually fix my own hair and do a professional job on it. It was a huge waste of money and time for me and I hope others do a little...
