Pho 4 U — Restaurant in Harker Heights

I can't tell you how many times I followed the hours on the website, only to show up there and see the place was closed. This isn't any way to run a business.

They just took a month off, so I called today to see if they were open and they said they were. It was about 230pm. I asked when they closed, because they sometimes close at 3pm, and the woman on the phone said "9pm." I headed out there.

I get there at 3:03pm and was amazed to see it was closed. I wouldn't have gone out there, obviously, if she had said it would close at 3pm, but when I called in to ask her why she said "9pm" instead of "3pm," she got belligerent and rude. She knew she messed up but didn't want to admit it and apologize, so she got standoffish and extremely rude.

What is it with all the Viet places in this area having HORRIBLE customer service? It's insane. The only place that isn't like this is Chau's Cafe, and they're not even Vietnamese!

Chau's is always open when they say they will be, are overly polite to their customers, and the food is very good. In other words: the exact opposite of this place. Go to Chau's....

2022/06/17 Update: New owners and staff. The food is as good as ever and the service is 1000% better!

I can't recommend anymore, unless you're going to check every item in your to-go order before you leave. We ordered small chicken pho, 3 orders of shrimp spring rolls, a small round eye steak pho, beef tip fried rice 2 waters and an un sweet tea. I had to ask 3 times for the second water(apparently the girl in the do-rag and blonde hair didnt want to bring it, the third time I asked another waitress who we've had before and she brought it out immediately, she's always been awesome). Food came quickly and was great! Best pho in Killeen....when they get the order right. The only problem is that the beef tip fried rice (we ordered it to-go for a family member, who is allergic to shellfish) was instead shrimp fried rice, so it was basically wasted money. We live 20 minutes away(yes we drive to heights just to eat at this restaurant, passing several pho restaurants on the way) so driving back to get it fixed was...

The food here is still terrible. This isn't a difference in taste, the pho broth legitimately taste like hot grease water and the owners are now FAKING reviews. This bother me tremendously because I used to eat here 2-3 times a week! It was delicious! And something changed 3-4 years ago, maybe new owners or something but the pho is INEDIBLE now. DO NOT let these reviews fool you, they are fake and instead of putting the effort into creating or buying fake reviews why don't you guys make the food like you used to! I PROMISE YOU, THE BROTH IS NOT RICH OR FLAVORFUL!!!!

(Old review) The use to be the best pho this close to my house but they changed their receipt. I use to eat here multiple times a week but everything is different. the broth is greasy and flavorless, the chicken is also just boiled flavorless chicken. really disappointed that something this drastic has changed. maybe new management? Im not sure what changed but the pho is below...
