I absolutely love Lowe’s Foods! 🛒 It was my go-to store when I lived in Jacksonville, NC, and it’s just as clean and pleasant as I remember. I’m eagerly looking forward to the daily food events they host. 🍽️
They have a beautifully set-up coffee corner. ☕ The store offers a wide variety of options in each aisle without being overwhelming. I’m particularly pleased with their extensive selection of gluten-free choices, showing they truly understand the growing health needs of the population. 🌱
I found the cornbread tops! From my fond memories, Lowe’s Foods always had the best bakery. 🥧 I recall buying their pies, and no matter the fruit pie I ordered, there were always plenty of fresh fruits within. However, I bought the strawberry rhubarb pie today and was a little bummed that there were no fruits! It was just the jam part, which felt like air and fruit sauce. 😕 Hopefully, management reads this and can either explain the lack of fruits in the pie or correct it.
Also, will this store have the triple berry pie available? They had the muffins, but the pie is the real winner. 🥇 Anyway, I’m looking forward to more shopping excursions there. They just opened, so I understand they’ll have some corrections to make. A long-standing worry is parking. 🚗 Once the other stores and apartments open, will there be enough parking? Because right now, it doesn’t look like there will be.
Overall, my experience at this location was delightful, and I can’t wait to see how they continue...
Read moreHot prepared food: good, but Publix does it better. Not as busy as Publix and they don’t try to limit what you can buy. Smoked Mac and Cheese is my favorite!
BBQ Items: good, but the ribs I bought I still had to heat them up for close to 4 hours at 225F. They were not done. Smoked bacon and turkey were good.
Bakery items: Cakes (not party cakes) are super expensive. A whole chocolate cake there is $9.99 and at Publix is $6.99. Publix and Walmart have better choices too. Their bages are great, no questions on those, pretty close to NYC ones. Breads are chewy, I mean, CHEWY! I even bought a fresh made Kaiser roll and when I ate my jaw muscles were hurting. For breads definitely stick with Lidl.
Sandwiches: big no no. Publix better. Again, chewy bread and very slow service.
Deli: very slow, not as slow as Publix, but Publix you can order ahead and skip their line and short staff issues.
Drinks: coffee is pretty good, smoothies are great, haven’t tried the beer yet. Service can be slow.
Meats: hit or miss. Bought some great quality low priced filet mignon but the sirloins were expensive and pretty chewy. Costco has far better quality. Bacon and sausages are really good! Ordering a sausage from the griddle takes 45 minutes. Skip it. It is a ridiculous amount of time.
Fresh pasta products: good quality, no complaints, good variety as well. Need to check the expiration date though, found a few expiring within a day or two.
And to finalize… the best part: the fresh...
