For me, this has been one of the best ways to get to New York City. Parking on the street is a fraction of the cost to park in the lots (with lots going up to $15 but street parking for 5 hours on Guyon Drive only being $5.35) and only when there are events at the local stadium are you forced to use one of the nearby lots and pay their prices.
As for the station, there isn't that much seating on either side, and there is only a escalator on the completely new side going towards the stadium (which was being partly replaced when I last went). The other side has a elevator which, more often than it should be, has been broken and beyond that there is only stairs. So, I wouldn't say this is the most ADA friendly station, or friendly for those who can't do a lot of walking or standing.
The platform has always been clean, there is, at least during rush hour, a police presence, but there has been an occassional homeless person. They've never bothered me, and generally keep to themselves, but I know how some people are about that so I thought it was worth mentioning.
Generally though, I've never felt unsafe leaving this station at 11 or 12 PM and the only annoyance comes from when the stadium has a game for then parking becomes a pain and getting out of...
Read moreYear after year, the persistent stench surrounding this station renders it nearly unwalkable, creating an intolerable environment for PATH riders. Despite having the institutional authority and influence to advance the waste field coverage project, the Port Authority has failed to act. This ongoing inaction, in the face of foreseeable harm to commuters and the general public, reflects a troubling disregard for its public obligations.
Every riders who pays for the PATH fare is entitled to wait for transportation in clean, safe air. The Port Authority’s failure to address a known, remediable public nuisance—despite its resources and jurisdiction—may constitute a breach of its fiduciary duty to the public. Its inaction undermines both public trust and the core principles of...
Read moreThis PATH station feels very modern, but the lack of signage makes it highly confusing and it's very easy to get turned around. It would be nice if there was a way to walk between the two platforms to prevent people from having to leave fare control.
The street below has almost no traffic calming and does not feel walk-able, I would like to see wider side walks and slower speeds for cars.
Trains are nearly empty here, would recommend getting on in both directions, though if you are going to Newark Penn, it might be more cost effective to...
