After today I will no longer shop or donate to this place. Apparently they have enough to treat costumers like dog shit. 2 employees where standing around staring at my stuff I brought to donate but did not take the stuff out of my vehicle. Instead they took 4 cars behind me that had less stuff. I sat in line for a good 10 to 15 mins before I even got to pull up to drop off. Then I stood there for another 7 mins. I had exactly 30 mins to drop stuff of and get to my job. I did not see this being a problem since I have done it multiple times already this year. Well I finally had enough standing there and started to take stuff out and stack it on the ground behind my vehicle. Some legs from a plastic shelf fell to the ground and rolled around while I was taking stuff out. Not one employee came to help me instead they went and got the manager who was extremely rude and disrespectful. I told him I was in a hurry and no one was helping so I started to unload myself. I never said a word to the employees but apparently the legs falling out of my vehicle was enough to make me the aggressor in this situation. The Manger came out yelling at me that I was being disrespectful to his employees and throwing my stuff around. Which clearly was not the case just because some plastic legs rolled off. I have donated probably close to 8000 dollars if not more of stuff this year. And to be treated this way is insane. For one I am a women you don't send a 6ft tall male out to yell at a women. For 2 your employees should of helped unload my stuff instead of ignoring me and moving on to cars after me. And for 3 I guess you are really not hurting for donations seeing how you threw a perfectly good changing dresser away right after I dropped it off. I watched as they took it to the large garbage can. I will be taking my stuff else where for now on. And I will be contacting corporate over this. Because the main issue is how this man raised his voice and his body language towards a women that is small compared to him. This was...
Read moreWe love the DI! Prices vary between locations, as we frequent them from Brigham city to Layton. I’ve noticed Harrisville’s prices seem a little steep. Often times you can get what your looking for in the store new for a similar price. We used to get furniture and kids shoes but don’t anymore because the prices are very high and we can do better getting it from the classifieds. We love getting books and tween clothing, and occasionally find something great in the outdoor area.
The bathrooms are ok, usually clean but has quite the odor. The area inside and out is kept tidy and clean. The lines to check out can get long And oftentimes there is only 1-2 registers open. Makes me feel bad for the cashiers because you can tell they get a little flustered when the lines get long.
Another positive is being able to drop stuff off without going all the way into town!
We have had some bad experiences here. One time a worker was sleeping in the shoe aisle. Another time one of the really snotty assistant managers (Melissa maybe), was rude. We had bought a 6V ride in car and when we came to pick it up she had “crushed” it in the compactor. They are not willing to change prices on clothing or furniture, they stay firm. I do also wish they would enforce their rules of parents need to stay with kids. They make an announcement overhead often about it, but so many times I see moms just drop their slew of kids off in the toy aisle and leave to shop elsewhere. I’ve had kids pull stuff out of my cart or roughhouse around my small baby, and they leave toys out all...
Read moreI love to go to thrift stores to see what I can find. This time, I was with 2 of my girls and we were specifically looking for skirts, dresses, and tops.
What a mess! The store doesn't look like a mess but smalls in the larges, mediums with the extra larges, etc. At first, my daughter thought, maybe there were a lot of people hiding things so they could come back and get them when they had the money to buy it. Then, after trying on some items and returning it to the fitting room rack for the employees to put away, she saw the medium sweater shrug she had tried on was put right next to the fitting rooms with the knits in the XL section. We found long-sleeved items mixed in with the short. Another thing she tried on that was a fancy-type shirt was also put with the short-sleeve knits.
My oldest daughter was fed up looking for stuff because she had very specific things she was looking for. She was totally frustrated by the lack of organization. My other daughter found some cute things but, due to the lack of organization, we couldn't find what my oldest daughter was looking for, and I only found one thing for me (which isn't usual). And, because it took us so long trying to find things, we missed out getting to another DI.
The ladies putting away all of the clothes looked like zombies. Maybe they partied a bit too much the night before? Had a crying baby keeping them up? Not sure but, it was EVERY. SINGLE. LADY.
First and last time at the...
