I had four recent experiences .Technicians were very prompt and did excellent work on both occasions . Kyle R came out on the most recent occasion (as he had on the previous two) and as always was prompt and communicated effectively regarding the nature of the problem And the likelihood of recurrence. He had not been the person to diagnose the most recent problem because he was on vacation. I do not recall the name of the technician who came out to diagnose the problem, but he also communicated effectively., Technicians always come out the same day I report the problem and diagnose the issue . If available (there was none this time ) they provide an effective stop-gap solution that worked while waiting for parts to cure the problem. Technicians also came out promptly to install the replacement part as soon as it arrived. In a prior situation, McGee staff actually drove somewhere to pick up the part in order to get it to me sooner. I appreciate the work by the technicians and by the parts department at McGee; , I recommend them highly .But on one of the prior occasions there was an unpleasant surprise regarding the high cost of shipping, Freon and labor in connection with the coil breaking on a four year old big Trane heat pump unit with a 10 year warranty covering only parts.I encourage new purchasers of Trane units with the 10 year warranty to understand that if a part breaks, the shipping, labor and Freon for which you have to pay may cost more than the part, and only the part is covered by the warranty McGee currently offers. That was not clear to me when I bought my Trane units. Trane website says there is an optional extended warranty available that “may” cover labor, and to ask the dealer. McGee sales staff have told me since the earlier incident that the optional extended warranty is issued not by Trane , but by a third party. Staff said there are several varieties offered at different price points , but that McGee staff is concerned that what is excluded will make customers unhappy . As a result, McGee currently does not offer any variation of the optional extended warranty. I also was surprised that the coil broke after only four years in service. My mother had a Trane heat pump with no service issues for many years. Per the Internet, it looks like current Trane unit parts break more frequently! So when preparing your budget over the lifetime of your Trane heat pump, expect to pay a lot for repairs. My bill was $1129 related to the ...

I had the team that was working with Mr Ben Emery of McGee Heating & Air, Inc come to my house back in early September 2024. They, per my request, installed my new mini-split air conditioner ( also known as a ductless heating & cooling package) system. They did an excellent job from beginning to end. The finished product is an absolute game changer. I no longer have to pay for cooling or heating an area in my house that is hardly used until I need it. These machines start working almost instantaneously after you push the remote to turn them on in the area(s) you want to cool or heat. There is no thermostat on the wall to fiddle with. There are no vents cut in your floor, ceiling, or wall to trap dust, bugs, rodents, allergens, or mites. This also means, there is no ductwork running under the crawl space or attic space that would provide a place for invasion of critters into your home or workplace. It runs very quietly. It’s quieter than any other air conditioner I have ever seen in decades. My energy consumption is at least half of what it used to be. Lower electric bills is a win win 🏅 all the way. The compact sleek design is another plus for my Mitsubishi Mini Split System@. It has fins that direct the air upward, downward, or forward to the direction you want to be cooled or heated the fastest. No more mowing around or getting trapped dirt, pine needles, or leaves out of your outdoor condenser. The benefits go on and on compared to the traditional HVAC system.
