I got my car serviced on 2/15, and then I was left stranded on the side on the road on 2/17. The reason? The transmission. Now, I have been a loyal customer to Hasbrouck Heights and I fail to understand why I was never notified of a regular tune-up for the transmission. I did a pretty big job on my last visit that cost me roughly $3,500 and never brought up. Before I paid, I asked the advisor "If I pay this and do the job, will my car run for a while?". He assured me that it will run like new. I am not a car guy so a notification of a regular tune-up for the transmission would have been appreciated. I had to pay an additional $6 grand for a new transmission, but trust me, I did not go to Nissan for this job.
To make matters worse, when I called Nissan to provide the MPI's of my last two visits and I explained my situation, the advisor answered very sarcastically "Damn that sucks" and when I asked if the MPI's can be emailed to me because I wanted to see what work was done, he said, "he will get on it later this week". That interaction was incredibly frustrating in how he handled it. Now, I have worked in retail before and when a customer is in trouble, you deliver a sense of urgency even if you have to fake it along with some empathy.
Now I know why Nissan is struggling financially - lack of customer care/awareness, crappy CVT engines.
Safe to say that I will never be returning nor buying a car from Nissan. At least in Toyota, I get a free oil change in the...

My home is 3 hours away. I had zero idea what to do. After calling Route 17 Nissan and explaining my predicament, the manager said he would "try" to get me in that day before 5pm, but no guarantees. I just had to get the car to him. It was worth a shot. He later told me he had 57 appointments and 3 mechanics. Despite an unlikely probability, he got me in and out WITHIN an hour!! I'm beyond impressed. Not to be over-dramatic, but it felt like a miracle occurred. To give a little perspective, three months earlier, I had a hellish experience with a Kia dealership in Bristol, CT. My then-2019 Kia Soul base model blew its transmission and clutch, while still under warranty. The dealership kept my car for 7 WEEKS while spewing a laundry list of excuses as to why they couldn't get the work done. I traded in my beloved car so I wouldn't have to deal with them or that again. When I bought the Nissan Sentra, I had zero expectations. Now, I feel only love for its dealerships and employees. They have been so good to me. Route 17 Nissan is certainly included in that belief, possibly holding...
