This place is for the grown & sexy and I was so looking very forward to a night out since it’s so very close to home, but unfortunately I am going to give it 2 stars for starters this venue is gorgeous, but it’s a shame a place this beautiful and as classy as it looks the customer service needs A LOT of work. Customer service in the hospitality business should always be #1 ESPECIALLY when your prices, ambiance & crowd you are getting are paying a pretty penny for a type of service that we really didn’t get. The hostess are young and lack awareness. I’m not sure if it’s because of their age, but they do need extensive training since they are the face and first people you come in contact with. They should be welcoming & not passive. One of your hostess treated me very unpleasant after a customer dropped my drink which I had no relationship withby mistake. The hostess was walking by and witnessed this ( mind you my drink was just bought probably two minutes ago so this drink was filled to the top. On top of that the lady who pushed my drink out of my hand by mistake spilled it on me as well. I was not upset at what had happened since I understand people are just having a good time and it wasn’t on purpose. What I don’t understand is when I spoke to the hostess who is a reflection of where she works when I told her what just happened to me her response was “who spilled the drink, I proceeded and replied “a lady”, her response was well that lady should buy you another drink. I’m not going to get you new drink (in a condescending tone) In disbelief by her response, I stayed composed and told her ok, then I would Like to speak to your manager. She proceeded to get her manager which I did not get her name, but she was nice enough to get me another drink and apologized and also agreed that her hostess response was not how she should have handled it. She did tell me she usually doesn’t give drinks out if they spill because than she would have to do that for everyone I said ok and waited for my drink, but once I spoke to a few of my friends who work in the same Industry they actually, bought good pointers out to me, Concourse isn’t a club, it’s a restaurant if something spills something which usually doesn’t happen as much as club, it’s not like people are dropping their drinks left and right we would honor that and get them a new one. It takes one bad experience to make anyone not want to go somewhere & that was mine. How you treat people no matter how beautiful a location may be, doesn’t amount to any type of customer service. If you want people to pay their prices, have a dress code, pay for valet look and dress a certain way for your location then you must provide a sense of welcoming feel. I hope this changes...
Read moreI saw this place on a TikToc review and the ambiance seemed great. Let me say that after visiting, I will take those influencer/blogger reviews with a grain of salt. I came here on July 2nd for brunch.
So I got the rum punc, which was amusing because when you taste it, it's nothing like your traditional rum punch. The name should be changed to something else because it's misleading. It's passionfruit flavored, and very taste but does not give you rum punch at all. Speaking as someone who drinks and makes rum punch!
The food...sliders, nothing to run home about. Calamari, eh, small a little over fried. It's blended in with fried pieces of banana peppers, which I did not know. So it's like a camouflaged calamari. The marina sauce was chunky and small serving, so I couldn't get a sufficient dip.
The fruit pebbles French toast is a waste of time. I was looking forward to this but in my opinion they haven't mastered it. I've been to a place and had cinnamon toast crunch French toast and OMG it was amazing. So in my mind I'm thinking I'd get a similar result. I should've know better when I saw the other couple leave half of it on the table when they left. Thick bread, but dry like it didn't get to soak up the batter. They didn't bring it out with syrup which made no sense. The cream they top it with must just be for decoration because it didn't spruce up the dish at all. We brought it home, it's still in the fridge and will more than likely wind up in the trash.
The dinner menu seemed more interesting to me. The brunch menu should be expanded. I have yet to go to a brunch restaurant that doesn't have steak and eggs, that's like a traditional staple. Another thing that rubbed me the wrong way is the price point. $21 for mediocre calamari thata not all calamari. $25 for generic sliders and underwhelming French toast. I'm am a foodie at heart, so I have no problem paying for good food but this was basic and disappointing. Thankfully, my bf ate before we got there. Otherwise, he would've been more upset than I was.
Now the service, couldve been way better. Idk if our server was overwhelmed or what. She was nice but seemed a bit frazzled. Broke the base of a champagne flute when she placed it down, I still don't know how that happened but...she was ok...maybe stressed. Whatever it was it showed though she tried for it not to show.
They had a DJ, he was allover the damn place. That's all I can say about that.
To sum it up drinks were decent, food needs work, brunch menu blah! I may return for the ambiance and a drink but I have other spots to check out on my list.
Concourse club you need some...
Read moreDon’t let the four star average fool you. This establishment is a joke. In all the places I’ve traveled around the globe, this Concourse Club takes the cake for most pretentious. This place sits next to a Wendy’s, it’s on the rooftop of the element hotel—the woman manager has some nerve treating guests like we’re in the four seasons. I came in to the resturant 30 mins before close to see some friends (I’m from out of town) and I came from the train so I was dressed down. The hostess allowed me to walk into the resturant, take a seat, before she came over and told me to remove my hat and put away the small food item I had ordered and was discreetly eating (I spent the whole day traveling, their kitchen was closed, I was starving…). But I understood the food policy so I stopped. But then I noticed she was still at our table awkwardly waiting for me to remove my hat in front of her!!
So, we asked a manager to come out because it seemed insane to be enforcing this policy with like 20 mins to close at that point. The manager comes out and I’ve never seen anything like it. We were trying to make light of the situation and the manager was like so serious. She clearly loves confrontation because the woman was nasty. Did nothing to try to rectify the experience or make a better first impression. When we tried to make light with her that the hat was for “religious reasons” she just got even more angry and vile. Truly shouldn’t be in the business if she’s got these type of anger issues in her spirit. Mind you she was wearing yoga pants and sneakers….both things listed that others shouldn’t wear on the tiny sign as you walk in. Her outfit was giving absolutely nothing. I feel like that needs to be said.
All in all, this is a place you go when you wanna pretend you’re more important than you are. The managers don’t care about your experience. The woman manager needs a few trainings on how to interact with people. The place is beautiful, but chile don’t come here ready to enjoy yourself—they’re uppity and not in a way you want to be known for. I’d rather spend my money at a place where the vibes are immaculate with service to match. This place def has a long way to go before they can say they have really earned a four star rating....
