We showed up to here at 7am. That’s when they open. We were waiting to go in from 6:45am because that’s where our daughter really wanted to go. So we waited. 7:05am we walk in, a little slowly because we noticed everyone still wearing jackets and lights not on. However, they did all have a cup of coffee in their hands. We finally get out daughter out of the car and approach the door when the cook came out and said “you guys can come in and wait but the waitress is suppose to be here at 7 but she is late every single day” so my husband asks him “ok can you just take our order because we’re hungry and we have to leave before our daughter goes to school” he denied the request. So, we sat in the waiting area about 20 minutes because our daughter really really wanted ihop before school (that’s the whole reason we left our house in 20 degree weather). After the 20 minute awkward wait we decided our daughter going to school unfed was going to be the result of us waiting any longer. 7:30 we left with no waitress there and everyone just sitting around drinking coffee. WHO RUNS A BUSINESS LIKE THAT. Needless to say we took her somewhere else. We went to the meadowlands diner and had an amazing, friendly and delicious breakfast with great service! We’ve gone to that ihop since we were kids but we will make our new breakfast spot at meadowlands diner, right...
Read moreI ordered stuffed French toast with strawberry with eggs bacon and hash browns for takeout, the lady gave me the wrong order. She gave me regular French toast with thin banana slices on the side and a glob of whipped cream on the side. The French toast didn't even have powdered sugar on it.
I went to return it and they only gave me 1 stuffed French toast, and didn't even bother to put anything on it like I originally asked (frosting, Nutella, strawberry) They literally just scooped up the bananas and whipped cream from the other order and threw it on top.
This wasn't the first time where they half ass takeout orders. If you order a happy face pancake, they won't make the happy face, they would just give you a chocolate pancake, give you a cup of Hershey kisses, a cup of whipped cream, and 2 soggy cherries in the middle of the pancake and expect you to just fix it all yourself.
They don't put as much care into takeout orders and cut corners for takeout a great majority of the time. That's why I'm giving them 1 star now because I've had it with their continued displeasing attempts and won't be going there anymore and tell my family and friends to not go there either even though we live closest to them but even my family dislikes them and this just gives us more...
Read moreOn last day of Spring break morning, my daughter and I decided to go to IHOP for pancakes. When we arrived around 11am, the place was packed, seemed half of NJ showed up on Good Friday. We waited about 25 minutes to get our table.
I liked the setup of this restaurant. The booths were in a glass roof space with bright sunlight and plenty of flowers all around. There’s menu changed a lot since I was in IHOP last time, years ago. I found lot more interesting items like variety of omelettes, pancakes, tacos, burritos, sandwiches and burgers.
We started with the blueberry and pineapple lemonades. Both drinks were okay. My daughter got the junior cupcake pancake that had sprinkles and whip cream on top. It was a soft tasty pancake. I got the cheeseburger omelette. I was pleasantly surprised how well the omelette came out to be. The cheeseburger paddy was shredded and put in both inside and above the omelette. I loved the firmnesses and taste of the whole omelette. Was super happy with the dish.
We had a wonderful service. Our server was very apologetic and helpful. She checked on us multiple times and fulfilled all our requests promptly. I also found out kids can eat for free after 4pm here. More reasons for it to be a really popular spot...
