So disappointed!! I have shopped here many times. Went in on a Friday around lunch and dropped off 2 huge plastic bins of clothes and shoes. Several that had never been worn with tags still attached. They were extremely busy, which I understood. The staff told me they didn't know if they would get to my stuff that day, I told them it was fine but I was going out of town and would not be able to come back until Monday if not called by 5pm, i offered ti just bring my stuff back Monday instead. They said no problem that it would be fine. I get a called Sat at 6pm saying, Hey our policy just changed, not sure if you daw our facebook page today but we can no longer hold your things can you come pick up tonight." I told her that i explained that to them Friday. That if it wouldn't be ready by 5pm it would be Monday, I am out for town and there is no way I can come. She said that's right I remember, you're good no problem. Well I come on Monday to pick my stuff up only to be told all of my stuff was donated and I was given a store credit of $30. I was livid. I received no courtesy call, no apology, nothing. I asked to speak to the manager. She said that it was not up to her, that several people were upset that day for the same reason but there was nothing she could do but give me my $30 in cash but would not ever be able to do that again for me. I was not told what they bought, did not get my plastic bins back and they acted as if it was my fault. How does a business change their policy on a customer after they have already agreed on the original policy? I am a single mother and I am absolutely sick that I gave away all of those clothes and shoes for nothing and couldn't even get a courtesy call. I will never shop here again and I will never recommend this place to anyone....
Read moreDonât waste your time trying to sell anything here. They always have a bogus reason not to buy items but when you go in they have racks upon racks of the ugliest, most outdated, worn out things for sale. Makes zero sense. I drove 25 minutes and brought in 2 bags of clothes straight from my closet/dresser clean and folded and was told they couldnât accept ANYTHING bc of âgeneral wear and tearâ and told me to âwash some and bring backâ bc of âa sour smellââŠâŠ.. clean folded clothesâŠ.. some stuff still with tags on it, never worn or worn once that were CLEAN and pulled from hangers in my closet. I had washed a pair of chacos and sanuk sandals prior to bringing them in so they were still slightly damp and had been in the bag in my car for about 30 minutes while I ran in Walmart on the way so maybe thats what the smell was but they were not even in the same bag as the clothes and WERE CLEAN. That and the fact that the clothes look the same as when I bagged them and the shoe bag was the only one that looked like it had been untied, tells me they didnât even look through my clothes. A total waste of gas and time. I already dont really shop here much anymore bc the selection is awful and itâs rare you find anything thatâs worth what they want to charge but after this I am done shopping OR trying to sell here.
I have since attached photos of my clothes still folded the same exact way I put them in the bags. They literally ripped a hole in one bag after opening the shoes and just decided not to look through any of the clothes I guess because the WASHED SHOES had a âsour smellâ. I promise you I wonât be back and will inform others of...
Read moreNEW REVIEW I no longer feel the same way I did when I wrote my previous review, so I think it's fair to provide an update. I haven't seen the one girl there in a while, but the last time I did, she was the one who checked me out. She was actually very friendly and didn't seem odd at all. I'm not sure what changed, but I'm glad it did. Everyone else who works there, both now and in the past, has been great too.
I really enjoy shopping at Plato's; they offer a great selection of name-brand clothes at affordable prices, and most items look barely worn, if at all. While I've noticed that prices have increased a bit lately, which seems to be a trend everywhere, I would have rated Plato's five stars if it weren't for the staff. Most of the employees are friendly and very helpful, but there's one girl, who I believe is the managerâher name might be Lori Lee or something similarâwho has consistently made me feel uncomfortable during my visits over the past couple of years. I really wish there was another store like Plato's in...
