Imagine the warm, golden sunlight of a Mississippi morning, cascading over the bustling Westwood Square. The air is filled with the harmonious symphony of daily life, as the people of Hattiesburg go about their routines with a gentle, unhurried grace.
As I walk through the square, the scent of fresh produce from the local Winn Dixie mingles with the earthy aroma of tools from Harbor Freight, crafting an olfactory tapestry as rich as the history of this town. The vibrant red awnings flutter slightly in the breeze, a dance of color and shadow, while the laughter of children echoes off the walls of Play It Again Sports.
The recent facelift of Westwood Square has infused this place with a new vitality. The developers have woven a vision of progress with the threads of community, creating a tapestry that honors the past while embracing the future. The addition of Walk-Onโs Bistreaux and Bar has brought a new pulse to the square, its heart beating in rhythm with the clinking of glasses and the murmur of conversations.
Here, at 4400 Hardy St, the spirit of Southern hospitality is alive and well, inviting all who visit to partake in its warmth and charm. The square is not just a collection of stores; it's a gathering place, a crossroads of commerce and camaraderie, where every face holds a story, and every storefront is a chapter in the larger narrative of Hattiesburg.
In this corner of Mississippi, Westwood Square stands as a beacon of community life, its light shining all the brighter for the care and attention it has received. It is a place that deserves no less than four stars, for it is more than a mere locationโit is a destination, a landmark, a piece of the soul of Hattiesburg.
And so, as the day draws to a close and the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky with strokes of pink and orange, Westwood Square remains, steadfast and sereneโa testament to the enduring spirit of this...
ย ย ย Read moreWe were in a large group on a Saturday visit around 11. I've been to other Walkon locations but this was a new one for me. The staff was polite and friendly and the service was good. The lighting was pretty bad and we all struggled to see each other and our food. My husband had ordered a chicken dish and the flavor was great. However, when he got further in on the piece of chicken the texture was off. We had to use our phone flashlights to see the chicken was severely undercooked. The manager comped his meal from our bill but honestly, I won't be going back because of the lighting. I need to be able to see what is on my plate. Who knows how the rest of our food was cooked and the plates are not cheap. 3 people from the party of 8 had food poisoning after that meal. We don't live in Hattiesburg but meet family there often. This will no longer be a...
ย ย ย Read moreI actually went to Winn Dixie, the grocery store, with my sister. This store is very nice, and as the picture shows, Halloween is coming up. Someone used Orange Fanta case canned drink boxes and grey/silver boxes to make a haunted house for advertising. I thought it looked really cool. The only issue I have is some of the prices on items other than groceries. For instance, cooking utensils were outrageous. Even some of the prices are much higher than Walmart or Dollar General! However, since they do stock some products that no other grocer has, I do recommend going here to grocery shop, but not for other items!...
