The Goods: Speaking as a former business owner, this place as a BUSINESS checks all boxes. I LOVE the speedy response when I contacted them thru email. I also liked the fact that the person whom I spoke to not only was knowledgeable and eell versed in the programs they offered but also volunteered to give us (me and my family) a tour of one of the classes for the evening. Alot of people are on the fence about committing so their confidence and appeal to their marker was a great driving factor. They have a well lit gym, that's very spacious and has different areas for the different programs they offer and skills sets of each child. They service children of all different ages, shapes, genders sizes and skill level. They are fully staffed and the class sizes ate pretty small (6-8 particularly) . They have a viewing area above and below (on a mega projector downstairs) for parents that don't want to miss a beat. There snacks, beverages, gym equipment, souvenirs and a decent size play area for the kiddies too young to enroll. They have spaces for the kids to place their items. Even if your still on the fence they offer 2 classes as a trial period for you to find out if it's for you.
The Ugly: The part that they automatically bill you is abrasive. And the parking lot being in the back is cool but there's no back entrance so you have to walk back up to the front. Street parking is usually crowded. The parking next door is another option but it's usually crowded too. So it's best to try to find street parking or arrive early enough to get...
Read moreDon’t waste your time here. As a young black professional, this place did not meet my standards as far as customer service and professionalism goes. Commuting all the way from Downtown Long Beach to come to this place just seemed like a nightmare at times. For one, my daughters coach started off being kind, however, as classes went on she barely even spoke or paid any attention to my daughter while doing the gymnastics routines. She literally looked as if she was not in the mood on several occasions and as mentioned paid my daughter no mind to where my daughter would be standing there waiting for confirmation. Younger children need positive reinforcement, it’s psychology, and with the former coach, my daughter was not getting that. Other experienced instructors are more hands on and a bit more enthusiastic to coach the Shining Stars class. Professionalism at the front desk could be better as well, as my first time coming for class here, I was looked and stared at like I was someone coming from off the street and barely receive a smile or hello. I can definitely pick up bad vibes and tried to ignore it so many times but I just can’t be fake like the staff here. My daughter will be attending a gym that is closer to home and is way more professional as we received a referral to this gym originally. There are a lot of parents who come to the Rise gym and look like their kids enjoy it. It’s a great gym and organized classes but...
Read moreThis gym is NOT worthy of the high cost they charge you! I took my daughter from other well reputed gymnastics in culver city to the Rise gym because our home address changed. My daughter was in a very good skills and motivation level for team level and she got accepted to Rising star level here. We drove twice a week here for entire year and paying nearly $470 / month for a terrible experience! Her first coach for the first 6 months was not giving any feedback to us… then coach changed and there were on-off situation. The second coach was better but looks like gym leadership team treated her poorly as well. At the end of the year looks like they had their assessment and chose selected students for teams without ‘0’ feedback to others!!!! My daughter didn’t learn 1 single skill in the whole year, no one was watching her progress and complete waste of her time and motivation 😢 and of course our monthly $470 for the entire year. This is a BAD gym. At the end when I decided to move my child from here, gym owner didn’t care and my child left crying telling me: Mom, Rise was a terrible experience as they Did NOT...
