
First off I'm speaking from my personal experience.
I been at planet fitness for about 3 years now and decided to join city sports because it just seemed like the right thing to do. Swimming pool, sauna, basketball courts, and so on, sounded all to good for 40 bucks a month. So I hoped on the band wagon.
Doing so I enrolled myself online, I got there and wanted to upgrade to have two guess passes to come with me. They said it was to late and that I would have to add each of them for a additional 40-45 a month plus a few on top on that to add them to my account. I don't understand why I couldn't switch to 2 guess passes for 20 a month when I just enrolled.
That was that, they gave my girlfriend a two week pass, they blew her phone up like three times a day everyday for two weeks, saying the sooner you join the cheaper it's going to be. She felt harassed, if she wants to join she'll call and let you guys know. Calls kept coming, till finally she changed her number.
Thirdly, poor I mean very poor customer service, I mean where did they hire these people . They know nothing, and I mean nothing about running a gym. They feel more like car salesman trying to sell a car. I finally stopped asking for help because they just shook their head like , "I don't know," I'm like does anyone know anything about custermer service.
I'm not done yet, the pool looks dirty, you can see grime growing in, the spa pool looks grimy as well. My 2-3 months being their I've only got to use the sauna for a week. Rest of the time it's broke and being repaired and seems they're not in no rush to fix it.
I mean cmon!!! can I get what you guys advertise.
I'm about done here and back to planet fitness. Plus theres a lot more girls there...

I visited City Sports Club at 24500 Hesperian Blvd, Hayward, CA, for the first time today. I live nearby, so the location is convenient, and I signed up for a membership yesterday. My initial experience started on a positive note—the lady at the front desk was incredibly sweet, helpful, and joyful. Her customer service was excellent.
Unfortunately, my experience went downhill from there. The gym culture at this location is messy and unhygienic. Unlike Crunch Fitness/Planet Fitness, where members consistently clean up after themselves and wipe down equipment, this gym seems to lack those basic standards. Many members here use equipment and just walk away without cleaning up.
The weight setup also left a lot to be desired. While the gym has a lot of machine weights, it seems heavily focused on them and lacks variety in free weights. There are only three squat racks, which is very limiting for anyone focusing on strength training.
To be honest, I’m glad I didn’t choose this location as my home gym. My job takes me past the City Sports Club at Whipple, and I’ll be trying that location tomorrow. Based on this visit, I likely won’t return here unless I’m only planning to use the cardio machines/Sauna room. This was a disappointing...
Read moreThe operations manager (jaymee) at this club is rude, discourteous and unhelpful. I chose to cancel my membership rather than go to a club who treats its members so disrespectfully.
I was a member of city sports for about 18 months. In March 2017I asked for my home club to be changed to Hesperian rather than the one on Whipple road. I started using Hesperian in March with no issues. I go to Hesperian today and I'm told the paperwork wasn't processed and I can't use the gym unless I pay a fee. I asked her to call Whipple Rd and clarify the matter. She refused to. She told me to go down there and sort it out myself. She asked me the name of the person I spoke to in March who changed my home club or if I remembered what the person looked like. I told her it was the beginning of March why would I recollect this information at the end of May. When a customer came after me she started helping her and ignoring me and telling me she has other customers to see to! What kind of customer service is this?!?
I had to ask her to cancel my membership and she said she can't cancel my husbands as he is not here. When I called Whipple road they did it for me over the phone.
As long as Jaymee is at this club I don't recommend this...
