Not sure why it took us so long to try this spot, we lived around the area for many years now and we ordered take out for this spot in one week! That's how good it was, we came back. Also you can't beat the price, quality, and portion during these times. Homecooked Hawaiian food at unbeatable prices.
We love getting the half/half plate which comes with 2 meat, and 3 sides (2 mac salad and 1 rice, or whatever you want). So far we've tried loco moco, chicken katsu, garlic shrimp, bbq chicken, beef teriyaki, pork lau lau, and kalua pork. Portion wise, the chicken had the best portion. They were all delicious but my favorite would have to be: bbq chicken, chicken katsu, and pork lau lau. The chicken katsu sauce was so good! It wasn't too sweet like how the other Hawaiian chains make it, but had the right sweetness and tanginess. The bbq chicken was amazing! Juicy, tender... mmm. The pork lau lau was so good, hard to find this nowadays so we appreciate it being offered on the menu. I'm looking forward to coming back to try their saimin noodles and other dishes.
Inside looks like it has good enough seating to dine-in. We'll try that option next time. The workers were super friendly and fast. Also they have those yummy Hawaiian canned drinks...
Read moreI've heard bad things about this place, but let me be the first to say they are all absolutely wrong.
The gentleman at the register was very polite, kind and respectful. I ordered a double-burger and fries for myself and a seafood dinner for my mother., The burger and fries were great. The seafood dinner was just as good. If the rest of the menu is as good as the food we ordered, then you truly cannot go wrong ordering anything. I always seen this place here, as I frequent the music shop and O'reilly's next door, but always just ignored it based off of what I've heard. Now that I've actually eaten there, I could say I was wrong. Great food, polite staff, reasonable prices. I will definitely be coming back. I would give this place 6/5...
Read moreThis little unassuming place is a neighborhood gem. Food is freshly made (if you pick up in a timely manner) and prices are very reasonable. The mini plates come in the rectangular 28 oz black bottom/clear top boxes, which hold a good amount of food! The guy at the counter is friendly and knows many of the regulars’ orders. Everything we have ordered so far has been delicious: kahlua pork, garlic shrimp, barbecue chicken, chicken katsu, fried fish filet, Spam musubi, and chicken...
